Honda Passport 2001 Power Train Automatic TransmissionHonda Passport 2001 Power Train Automatic Transmission Review #10005791 HONDA PASSPORT 2001 car safety problem was reported on Feb 10, 2002.HONDA PASSPORT 2001, manufactured by HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) had a problem with POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION . in december 2002, the transmission would not slip into first gear from a complete stop and when i would have to slow down for traffic and accelerate. the truck would jerk into first gear. also, when i put the truck into reverse, once i shifted the gear into drive, it would take 8-10 seconds before the car would slip into first gear. january 4, 2003, i took the car to a repair shop and told them the problem i was having and they serviced the transmission, telling me that i was low on fluid, but that there weren't any apparent or visible problems. i did not have any further problems with the truck until february 5th or 6th, when the jerking began again. on february 10, 2002, on my way home from work i started the truck and it took about 20 seconds for the car to slip into first gear. then as i was going 55-60 miles an hour up an incline on a major expressway, the truck would not accelerate and began to make a "moaning" noise and the check transmission light came on. this was the first time that the transmission light had ever come on. i had to quickly pull over onto the shoulder to avoid being hit by a semi truck that was behind me. i turned the car off for a few minutes and started it again an the transmission light was off, but i could not accelrate over 20 miles an hour. i slowly drove to the nearest exit. the next day i took the car to a transmission repair shop and was told that i was 3 quarts low on transmission fluid, and that the cause was that the accumalator in the transmission was leaking. this car is only 2 years old! this is ridiculous! .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):4S6CK58W214. Honda Passport 2001 Structure Frame And MembersHonda Passport 2001 Structure Frame And Members Review #10390312 HONDA PASSPORT 2001 car safety problem was reported on Mar 15, 2011.HONDA PASSPORT 2001, manufactured by HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) had a problem with STRUCTURE:FRAME AND MEMBERS . first the honda dealership told headquarters that my 2001 passports frame was in such poor condition and unsafe that the recall repair would not fix the problem. so headquarters requested more pictures of the frame damage for their technical department. today simon from headquarters called and said they were going to go ahead with the recall repair even though this car will still be unsafe to drive. he told me that the rusted frame was worse in the front than in the rear where they would install the new brackets. the rear of the car was already separating from the back of the frame. so they are fixing a car that will never be safe because they used defective materials on all their frames for vehicles under rodeo and passport from 1998-2002. this was reported many times over the years of this rust problem and then the recall fix is issued september 2010. what does it take to get some help with these big corporations when they expect us to drive their unsafe cars and sign waivers on the rusted frame pictures. i am not driving that passport anywhere as human lives are at stake, including mine. how is it that some receive a pay off for their car and i get stuck paying a loan for 2 1/2 more years for a car i can't drive. where is the justice here? i think this is the most horrific thing a car company can do to hundreds of thousands people who were loyal to that company. how many lives or accidents is it going to take before we get help. someone in power needs to help us get this resolved with honda and include the frame in the recall process as they are basically in the same condition. we are supposed to sit back and take this and do nothing about this severe injustice. if someone even reads these complaints would be a miracle as it took many years to even get a bracket recall from honda. please help us who have only this car as our only transportation. i can't even look for work as i have no car but i have a car payment to make and insurance. *tr.Mileage was 80000 miles. Honda Passport 2001 Suspension Rear Review #10393605 HONDA PASSPORT 2001 car safety problem was reported on Feb 01, 2011.HONDA PASSPORT 2001, manufactured by HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) had a problem with SUSPENSION:REAR . i have a 2001 honda passport with 91000 miles and has been recently recalled due to a rotted frame. prior to the inspection, upon a personal inspection, chunks of my frame were able to be removed by hand. i was advised of 4 stages of severity and after the inspection my vehicle was a stage 4. after a month and a half i've been informed that actually there is 5 stages and mine has been repaired. i'm still awaiting final approval from honda corp to release the vehicle back to me. i work in a total loss claim handling environment for the largest insurer of vehicles on the road today. not only have professionals that handle inspections daily for this company but the shop that did the repairs are saying this vehicle is still not safe for the road considering the extent of corrosion over the entire frame, not just the 'brackets'. i have a 2 year old only child that i refuse to put in this vehicle with that being the case creating a major dilemma above and beyond just the economical impact. honda has done absolutely the minimum to coverage large liability losses with this issue and are putting unsafe vehicles back on the road. over the last week of this tremendous nightmare, i've been shuffled from department to department within honda being rendered as a 'single' customer with absolutely no recourse against this injustice. ultimately, i'm faced with being a parent protecting my child from an unsafe vehicle versus unloading this vehicle on an innocent bystander to recoup economically. i have no expectations from this complaint other than simply knowing more than the average consumer going through this nightmare due to my occupation and simply having to deal with it. we have too many resources in this industry to allow someone to get injured or worse yet die due to the bottom line of a large company and nothing being done. thank you to whomever reads this for finishing my complaint, now on to the next one. updated ivoq 04/08/11 *tr.Mileage was 91000 miles. Honda Passport 2001 Structure Frame And Members Review #10399930 HONDA PASSPORT 2001 car safety problem was reported on May 06, 2011.HONDA PASSPORT 2001, manufactured by HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) had a problem with STRUCTURE:FRAME AND MEMBERS . my 2001 honda passport went in for inspection for recall for the lower link trailing brackets. the brackets were installed over the rusted frame on 03/16/11. it was stated in emails to the corporate office that even if the stage 3 repairs were completed as instructed the vehicle would be unsafe to drive due to the deep corrosion in other portions as well. honda told jeffrey honda to still perform the stage 3 repair as the other corrosion areas do not apply to this current campaign. it is jeffrey honda's professional opinion that the vehicle remains unsafe to drive due to heavy and deep corrosion to rear trailing arms, rear frame hanging not bolted together. fuel tank housing rusted and half way portions as well. honda corporate office refuses to offer a buy back offer for this vehicle. they have bought back other vehicles that were not as bad as mine and tell me that they are sorry but they will do nothing else for me. my vehicle is not safe to drive and still has a 2 year loan on it with full coverage insurance. it is not my fault that honda used defective steel when making these frames for these vehicles. case manager [xxx] says the buy back offers are on a case-by-case basis. in our many conversations he can not tell me why my vehicle does not meet the criteria. it is rusted underneath from one end to the other. the trailing brackets installed are like a band aid for a broken leg. i feel discriminated against as others get buy back offers and all i get is sorry. i had to have the vehicle towed home because of safety issues. it can never be driven again with only 80,000 miles and a perfect body because the whole frame is rotted. i feel that the recall should be reopened to include the frame. many people are still driving these vehicles with the rotted frames as it is their only transportation. they are risking their life and the lives of others on the road by continuing to drive these vehicles. all states should of received a inspection notice for these vehicles. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6) *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 80000 miles. Honda Passport 2001 Structure Frame And Members Review #10402090 HONDA PASSPORT 2001 car safety problem was reported on Sept 11, 2010.HONDA PASSPORT 2001, manufactured by HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) had a problem with STRUCTURE:FRAME AND MEMBERS . 9/11/10 while driving 2001 honda passport, i heard a loud noise in the rear of the vehicle and simultaneously i lost control of the vehicle. it was towed on a flatbed due to extensive frame rot. the honda dealer said the frame was so badly corroded there was no place on the frame that they could attach the lower link bracket back onto the vehicle. the loud noise was the lower link bracket breaking loose from the frame because the frame rotted through. i was told the vehicle was not road safe and needed a frame replacement. since an ea had been opened honda suggested i go to a garage that can bypass the corrosion and rig something up that would allow a temporary fix until a recall was issued. i did the repair at a cost of $1,200.00, but it was not guaranteed or road safe for anything but side roads around town. later a recall was issued on the lower link brackets. my lower link brackets are not defective they are fine and completely intact. the problem is my entire frame is corroded through all layers and is riddled with holes. the bracket cannot be attached because you cannot weld a bracket onto rust and holes. from the date of the recall both honda of torrington and the independent garage that did the temporary repair said the vehicle was not road safe , fell well outside the parameters of the worst stage included in the recall and that my case would be referred to honda to negotiate a settlement. after months of calls to the dealer about the status i was told to bring the vehicle down for the recall repair. we requested to be present and did not authorize repairs unless we were. we called the dealer to ask when they would be calling us down. they said to arrive in one half hour because that's when they would be bring the vehicle in. when we arrived 20 minutes later, we were told a stage 2 repair was already done per the tech-line. which consisted of spraying wax over an unsafe frame. they refused to put on our invoice that it was road safe. *tr.Mileage was 104000 miles. Honda Passport 2001 Fuel System, Gasoline Review #10559116 HONDA PASSPORT 2001 car safety problem was reported on Jan 04, 2014.HONDA PASSPORT 2001, manufactured by Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) had a problem with FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE . while driving at highway speeds the engine died, lost power steering and power brakes (lost vacuum to booster.) the #1 intake lifter button popped out and the cam lobe hammered the lifter and valve into the #1 cylinder causing catastrophic engine failure. engine oil was in mid range and had ~2000k on engine oil change. no fluid mixing occurred prior to or after the incident. when valve was pushed into the cylinder it was bent, the locking up of the cam on the passenger side of the engine caused the water pump to be broken bending the idler pulley down dumping antifreeze out onto the road. My 94 GL 1500 sends off a vibration when you let off the gas...traveling at 80-90 +mph or so it will rumble until you slow to about 60 mph ....a little scary, it makes me think its going to lock up...I had a previous 94 gl that did the same thing my 2003 Honda Accord started with replacing power steering pump then power steering hose{recall} now I have a leaking power steering rack seems all connected to me should be a recall for the rack also? Is it possbile for wheel cyclinder to be leaking after only 20,000 miles on a 2003 Civic Honda? 2005 Honda CRV - Front struts noisy over small bumps in road Since new problems have included pull to the right, grinding noise from rear diff, crack in windhshield all across the bottom of the glass from side to side no chipping just a long horizontal crack just above the dash line. Front struts make a hug the check engine light is staying on on my cbr1000rr 06. do you have to adjust the valves and fuel when you remove baffles from a 1995 honda 750 magna????
