Honda Civic Hybrid 2008 WheelsHonda Civic Hybrid 2008 Wheels Review #10439723 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID 2008 car safety problem was reported on June 01, 2011.HONDA CIVIC HYBRID 2008, manufactured by HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) had a problem with WHEELS . three of the four wheels on the car have corrosion around the base of the tire pressure monitor system sensors that allows air to leak from the tire. the worst of the leaks i'm experiencing currently allows a loss of about 7 psi per week and is slowly getting worse over time. a honda regional service rep had suggested that adding air may be allowing moisture into the tire/wheel assembly contributing to the internal corrosion, which doesn't seem to have been a problem on any other car i've ever owned. *tr.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):JHMFA36248S. Honda Civic Hybrid 2008 Fuel System, GasolineHonda Civic Hybrid 2008 Fuel System, Gasoline Review #10440625 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID 2008 car safety problem was reported on Oct 15, 2010.HONDA CIVIC HYBRID 2008, manufactured by HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) had a problem with FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE . purchased vehicle new in march of 2008. in october of 2010 an ima battery update was required by manufacturer. since the update i have taken the vehicle back to the dealer on a monthly basis for almost a year with the following problems, they of course can not get the vehicle to do everything that it does to me and the dealer always tells me it is operating within manufacturers standards. i have given up taking it in every month and now just take it in for its routine maintenance, i give them a printout of my concerns and the tech attaches it to the workorder. a) low fuel mileage, averages 25 to 28 mpg. before ima update, was averaging 35 to 45 mpg. b) slow acceleration from stops, this is very dangerous because we never know if the vehicle is going to move or not. we must leave ourselves alot of space when trying to merge with traffic because of this. c) idles rough, off & on, while stopped or parked, this is using up gas because the ima battery does not come on as much as it used to. d) assist is not coming on as much as it used to, if at all. e) ima battery reading goes from 1-2 bars upto 8 or so in minutes and then back down to 1-2 bars within a minute or less. usually reads about 1-2 bars most of time. ima is charging itself on flat ground, up hills, down hills and when braking. i would trade the vehicle in for another, but am afraid that some other sucker would end up with something that is not operating correctly. i did purchase the extended warranty on this vehicle. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):JHMFA36298S. Honda Civic Hybrid 2008 Engine And Engine Cooling Review #10447684 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID 2008 car safety problem was reported on Jan 01, 2009.HONDA CIVIC HYBRID 2008, manufactured by HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) had a problem with ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING . i tracked my honda civic hybrid gas mileage. from 12/09 to 1/10 my average gas mileage was 40.2mpg. took my car into honda dealership for recall work in spring of 2010. they told me that there was a software update on the engine/battery. i asked if there would be any affect on the car's performance. the dealership response was that without the update i would risk voiding the warranty on my car battery/engine. so i had to get the update. from that date i continued to track my gas mileage. from that point onward my gas mileage has averaged 30.9mpg. i called the dealership to ask if they could set the software back to the way it was previously. they said no. they insisted that it was my driving habits that had changed.... when nothing in my life changed so this could not be the case. *tr.Mileage was 24325 miles. Honda Civic Hybrid 2008 Electrical SystemHonda Civic Hybrid 2008 Electrical System Review #10449653 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID 2008 car safety problem was reported on Mar 01, 2011.HONDA CIVIC HYBRID 2008, manufactured by HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM . first incident occurred around a month after purchased 3 of 2011. door locks would lock & unlock while driving. immediately took it back to norm reeves honda in cerritos,ca. i was told that the problem was a bad motor in the passenger door & norm reeves fixed the problem. i was told the drivers side window was defected & norm reeves replaced the window. in 4 of 2011, the car door locks began locking & unlocking while driving but now making a screeching sound. took the car back to the same norm reeves & they explained it was the motor in the passenger rear door.that was fixed as well. in 6 of 2011, again the door locks started locking & unlocking while driving. i then realized the rear drivers side door was not locking & took it in to norm reeve where they stated the motor was out & they fixed it. i then asked if maybe it could be something electrical & if they could check the electrical wiring on the car, i was told by octavio, service manager at norm reeves, it was not the electrical that it was the door locks. i told the service manager, octavio at this time i felt like the car also gives a push or skip while driving & also smelled a burning smell. octavio stated the honda was checked by a tech & said nothing was wrong with it. i began taking the honda civic in to norm reeves every month complaining about the car skipping or losing traction. it was frightening driving down hills thinking my car would not stop or lose control. the burning smell would become greater when driving up an incline or the hills of any freeway or city. when the car would be parked at an incline the shifter would lock & become hard to remove from park. during each visit to norma reeves honda, which occurred more than 10 times, i was never told of any recalls or examinations needed in regards to the fuel tank problems & only found out when my honda civic was taken to rock honda of fontana, ca. *tr.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):JHMFA36218S. Honda Civic Hybrid 2008 Electrical SystemHonda Civic Hybrid 2008 Electrical System Review #10465089 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID 2008 car safety problem was reported on July 09, 2012.HONDA CIVIC HYBRID 2008, manufactured by HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM . i have owned this car since april 2008 - i don't drive a lot - in 4 years and 3 months i have less than 40,000 miles on the car. i am the original owner - i purchased it new. i noticed a few months back that the hybrid batteries did not appear to be acting right and when i mentioned it during my 30,000 service they said that it was testing ok and there were no problems with it. over the past few months it has steadily gotten worse - to the point where the hybrid batteries would not hold a charge. when i brought it in to the dealership they stated that while they could see that the battery was dead it wasn't giving them the "error message" or "error code" that it was supposed to so that they could replace the battery. they had to keep it and drive it around town the entire day and perform tests on it to make the car finally give them the error code necessary to indicate that the hybrid battery was not working so it could be replaced. while these batteries are under warranty and they are replacing them - i don't feel that 4 year lifespan for this type of equipment is adequate - particularly given that i don't drive the car a lot. additionally this is a quite costly part - $4,000 if it was not under warranty. i am concerned that the error message was not displaying despite the months of issues with it - and the fact that the equipment only has a shelf life of 4 years in my location due to the climate. this was not disclosed during my purchase and had it been i would never have purchased a hybrid vehicle. this with the fuel tank defect has me seriously questioning this car maker's quality and durability of their vehicles. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 39600 miles. (there is a known problem with a connection at the fuel tank for 2006-2011 models of the civic hybrid). they will not know what the problem is until i bring it in on monday and will evaluate it then. apparently, that dealership does not believe a gasoline leak is not enough of a problem to have me bring it in on a saturday. clearly, the problem with the fuel tanks is broader than the 80,000 cars originally anticipated. a well-maintained car with ~50,500 miles on it should not have a fuel leak. with this fuel leak on top of the already poor performing ima battery that everyone else is having, i am not a happy honda owner. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 50500 miles. Honda Civic Hybrid 2008 Fuel System, GasolineHonda Civic Hybrid 2008 Fuel System, Gasoline Review #10538591 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID 2008 car safety problem was reported on Aug 28, 2013.HONDA CIVIC HYBRID 2008, manufactured by Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) had a problem with FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE . the problem started before the date indicated, however we didn't call honda until aug. 29th, 2013. in the mornings for maybe a week we smelled gas fumes in the garage i check under the car and never saw anything leading to a leak. the cars sensors never indicated a problem, so i thought maybe some gas spilled when i removed the gas nozzle at the gas station. a few days later we smelled the gas again, so i went to honda and purchased a new gas cap about $25.00 and changed out the old for the new. the next morning we smelled gas again, so i called honda and they said get your car in here asap. we took the car in and left it, a few hours later we received a call telling us that the fill pile weld was leaking at the tank. the service man also said the gas tanks were on back order, but he would try to find one elsewhere. he had no idea why the weld failed and also why the tanks were on back order. the service man called a few hours later and found a tank it was being shipped express and hopefully will be here this week. the estimated cost is $971.00 for this repair and parts. i did some checking on the internet and found that in 2007 there was a shortage of gas tanks and the same problem was occurring. example one person only had 45k miles when his tank had to be replaced. this problem i believe should be an indicator for a recall, this problem could have been deadly to us and others. there is no warning when it might happen, now i wonder how long i have with the new tank before the weld breaks on it. the expense is really costly, is their anyway i can recoup the $$ spent? *jb.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 86431 miles. Honda Civic Hybrid 2008 Power TrainHonda Civic Hybrid 2008 Power Train Review #10627890 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID 2008 car safety problem was reported on Aug 19, 2014.HONDA CIVIC HYBRID 2008, manufactured by Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) had a problem with POWER TRAIN . this problem has existed for several months. the problem is that the car suddenly does not have power when starting from a stopped condition. at the same time the indicated drive battery level drops and the dashboard indicates the gas motor is charging the battery. after maybe 30 seconds the reduction of power is less. there seems to be some reduction in power until the drive battery is mostly charged. during this time it appears that the electric assist is not working. have also observed during this several month period the gas mileage is reduced. the problem is more likely to occur after the car has sat without running for a few hours. the hazard here is that this has occurred when pulling into traffic. when it occurs even pushing the gas pedal to the floor does not have much effect. have been lucky not to have been hit by another car. took the car to the dealer. the dealer installed new software that has helped the problem, but not eliminated it. will continue to pursue with the dealer. noticed that others seem to be having the same problem, i suspect it is related to a design problem with the hybrid powertrain. am not convinced they will address this dangerous situation..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 69000 miles. My 94 GL 1500 sends off a vibration when you let off the gas...traveling at 80-90 +mph or so it will rumble until you slow to about 60 mph ....a little scary, it makes me think its going to lock up...I had a previous 94 gl that did the same thing my 2003 Honda Accord started with replacing power steering pump then power steering hose{recall} now I have a leaking power steering rack seems all connected to me should be a recall for the rack also? Is it possbile for wheel cyclinder to be leaking after only 20,000 miles on a 2003 Civic Honda? 2005 Honda CRV - Front struts noisy over small bumps in road Since new problems have included pull to the right, grinding noise from rear diff, crack in windhshield all across the bottom of the glass from side to side no chipping just a long horizontal crack just above the dash line. Front struts make a hug the check engine light is staying on on my cbr1000rr 06. do you have to adjust the valves and fuel when you remove baffles from a 1995 honda 750 magna???? I had asked my repairman to look for a hole while he had the car in the air for an oil change and he coul '03 CIVIC steering wheel tilt lock getting loose, can I fix it or's it a Dealer issue?
