GMC YUKON XL 2007 car safety problem was reported on Oct 23, 2013.GMC YUKON XL 2007, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL . while picking up my children from school the engine started backfiring,pulled the car over and put into park idle completely unstable, traction control service light came on engine light came on. hard shift on transmission. totally disappointed. took it to the dealership for a diagnosis they say the lifters are bad and are no longer covered under warranty. quoted me 2700.00 to replace 2 lifters so not acceptable this car does not even require a tune up until 100000 miles. explained that to the service rep and he came back with a different quote telling me they would be willing to cover half. really why would you offer to pay half right off the bat. i believe they are aware that there is a problem and trying to cover it up. my brother in law has a year newer model and just had the same issue repaired last month. they also paid half for his. how ironic is that. i dont believe the owners of these vehicle should be responsible for a faulty part on an engine gm should be! there are many post on the internet of other owners experiencing similar problem this motor needs to be recalled. *tr .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 52000 miles.
