Gmc Yukon Xl 2004 Power Train Automatic TransmissionGmc Yukon Xl 2004 Power Train Automatic Transmission Review #10117987 GMC YUKON XL 2004 car safety problem was reported on Dec 19, 2004.GMC YUKON XL 2004, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION . i have three separate complaints: 1) in december 2004 i was driving on the freeway, then suddenly there was a loud crashing sound that came from underneath of the hood of my yukon. it was apparent that something came apart from underneath the hood because when i looked in the rear view mirror, and then pulled over to the shoulder of the freeway; there was nothing visible in any of the freeway lanes which would indicate that i ran over something. whatever came apart, you could hear it being drug from the front, all the way to the rear of the truck. it tore the entire left fender well apart, it cut a whole into my left custom tire, and it caused me to lose control of the vehicle , almost causing me to have an accident. my husband took the truck to the nearest gmc dealer for this problem, and the service person told him that we would be charged for them to look into this matter. my husband was also told that we would have to endure the cost to have the left rear fender well that was damaged from this incident. (2) in march 2005 my yukon's digital reading kept stating service air bag. also, it displayed the picture of a person in the seat with the airbag deployed. i should not be having these problems with a vehicle that is fairly new, that has only 18,007 miles on it. i purchased this vehicle for safety purposes, and now i have to deal with defects that the dealer is not willing repair at no cost to me. Gmc Yukon Xl 2004 Service BrakesGmc Yukon Xl 2004 Service Brakes Review #10620882 GMC YUKON XL 2004 car safety problem was reported on Aug 07, 2014.GMC YUKON XL 2004, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES . the brake lines on my 2004 xl yukon went out leaving me helpless with my 5 year old twin daughters. i was out doing errands yesterday when i was traveling 55 miles an hour on a major side highway when i went to brake and my foot went straight to the bottom of the floor.... i was not able to stop i was petrified because i was in full traffic. i pulled off the road into the grass to prevent an accident. this was the most frightening situation i have ever been in. when my husband arrived home i explained what happened , he looked under the truck to find all i said all of my brake lines were corroded and rusted and crumbly to the ground. he said he never saw anything like this. we have had several used cars in our lifetime and this is the first to ever experience brake line failure!!!!!! i called gm to discuss my dilemma and hopefully get help with the repair and confirm my husbands findings. we were advised they will do the tow to the dealership for the diagnostic,but we would have to pay for the diagnostic. we were also advised this was a maintenance issue. well if we would have ever thought that we would not be in this predicament today... well here i am still waiting to hear back from them about the tow. i also called the gm dealership and they said they are aware of the problem and they had several cars in there dealership right now for brake line repair, but could do nothing with absorbing the repair cost. i would have to go to general motors and take it up with them.... at this point i am thankful for being alive with my beautiful twin daughters which could have been crippled , dismembered or even dead i am seeking from general motors compensation for repairs of my brakelines on my gm xl yukon 2004. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 160000 miles. My GMC K1500 sometimes starts running rough. It may correct it's self or may continue running rough untill you turn it off for a while then start it up again. Sometimes it may go a month with no problem then the problem may come right back. 1998 GMC Sierra 4x4. 118,000 miles but rebuilt engine installed at 78,000 miles. Drive carefully, slow take offs, 65 to 70 mph on road, but gas mileage is 10 to 11.5 mpg. Changed air filter but no better. Tire pressure is fine. Any suggestions for 2004 GMC Envoy~~~ I have no rt or lft brake lights.(only the bar brake light at the top of the hatch.) I was told that the right one wasn't working. When I went under the seat to check the fuse I noticed that it was the only fuse that was loose, j What can i do to repair the problem i have with my wipers being intermittend thank you. I have a 2007 Yukon Denali XL and my climate control + button for the heat on the drivers side peeled off. Anyone out there having the same issue? It looks like the passengers side is doing the same. IT is stuck all pulled out , and will not rolll back in .
