Gmc Yukon Xl 2001 Power Train Driveline Center Support BearingGmc Yukon Xl 2001 Power Train Driveline Center Support Bearing Review #10018482 GMC YUKON XL 2001 car safety problem was reported on Apr 01, 2003.GMC YUKON XL 2001, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with POWER TRAIN:DRIVELINE:CENTER SUPPORT BEARING . i purchased a 2001 gmc yukon xl 06/15/01. in the early 40k mile period on my 2001 i started hearing a road noise that i thought was my new tires. i took my vehicle in to marlow-werner pontiac gmc in punta gorda, florida on 3/06/03 at 44,792 miles and told them i had some sort of tire noise if they could check out. they reported no problem. the noise kept getting louder during a 6 hour trip. upon returning to town we took it into tuffy auto service center in port charlotte. we told them we thought it was a bearing noise and to please check it out. they had the knowledge to put it on the lift and put in gear and realized it was the rear end. we immediately took it to marlow-werner and told them what tuffy had said. they checked out the vehicle and told us the complete rear end needed to be redone. the bearings were scored and they had to replace all the rear differential bearings, pinion, and side bearings. i have had my vehicle serviced at the dealer every 3k miles as per manufacturer recommendations. i have never known a new vehicle with 40k miles have the rear end go out this way. i feel there is a manufacturer defect and they should have repaired it at no cost to me. they charged me 50% of the repair cost under the goodwill warranty. i feel this is a problem that needs to be checked into further and should have not happened with the low mileage and is a safety concern. i called gmc on 4/2/03 and spoke with darren christensen which is a consumer relations manager. the file number is #1-867-42264. he said he didn't know how i drove my vehicle and if i hadn't drove on it for so long the repair wouldn't have been so extensive. i was furious. i told him that i use my vehicle to take my two kids to school and on vacations and was not a hard driver. he told me he couldn't help me any further and that they would only cover the 50%. i just want this noted in case there are other consumers that are having the same problem with the rear pinion/bearings. *jb.Mileage was 47400 miles. Gmc Yukon Xl 2001 Parking Brake Review #10091068 GMC YUKON XL 2001 car safety problem was reported on Sept 13, 2004.GMC YUKON XL 2001, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with PARKING BRAKE . my 2001 yukon xl has experienced a mechanical parking brake problem since purchase in 2000. at approximate mileage 11500 i took the vehicle into the gmc dealership where it was purchased to complain that the parking brake went to the floor when applied. they told me that was the way it was designed. since that time i have tried to use the parking brake several times and found that it did not hold the vehicle when applied. a few months ago i had my vehicle serviced by a non gmc shop and told them about a "swishing/rubbing noise coming from the rear of the vehicle, which now has approximately 73 k miles on it. they told me that this was the parking brake pads rubbing on the rotor and that this was a gmc design flaw that gmc was well aware of. i then took the vehicle to a gmc shop, coury gmc in mesa, az, where i bought the vehicle. i again told them of the non functional brake as i had previously done at the 11.5k mileage mark. service personnel again told me that the brake was designed to go to the floor when applied. they also told me that the rear rotor and emergency brake pad was worn out and needed replacement. i showed them the previous service order from the 11.5k mileage mark. they told me that they would not fix the parking brake at their expence because too many miles had accumulated between complaints. i live in the arizona desert and can count on one hand the number of times that i have applied then released the parking brake as it does not hold the vehicle. according to independent shop owners the parking brake design is defective and wears out even if it is not used. this is obviously apparent in my case. not only does the parking brake not hold the vehicle when applied it wears out when not in use and causes damage to the rear brake rotor, a definate safety issue. i was not surprised that there are many other complaints on the nhtsa website covering this very issue.*ak.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 11500 miles. Gmc Yukon Xl 2001 Service Brakes, Hydraulic AntilockGmc Yukon Xl 2001 Service Brakes, Hydraulic Antilock Review #10140569 GMC YUKON XL 2001 car safety problem was reported on Oct 25, 2004.GMC YUKON XL 2001, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK . after experiencing abs problems and immediately repairing our 2001 gmc yukon xl regarding the corrosion between the front hub/bearing assembly and the wheel speed sensor last year (the hubs and sensors were cleaned and lubed, not replaced), our abs warning light appeared two weeks after the repair. we also began hearing a rubbing sound coming from the front wheels when driving. we notified bob sellers about this, and they reset the abs light. on the way home, the abs warning light came on again. when we took the yukon in to bob sellers to investigate further, they did a computer scan check with the codes indicating "pump motor ck open" and pump motor k shorted." they also typed "clear codes road test over 15 miles, abs did not reset codes." bob sellers now quotes us over $1,000.00 to repair the motor, something we cannot afford. we are very suspicious how this occurred in tandem with the repair and are asking for nhtsa to please look into this. when we needed our abs to engage during the winter season, they failed. our yukon was recently taken in again when the recall regarding the aforementioned problem was issued, and once again, all bob sellers did was clean and lube the sensors, not replace them. please advise, so my family and i are not at risk with this horrible brake situation as the winter season approaches. thank you. *jb.Mileage was 65000 miles. Gmc Yukon Xl 2001 Service Brakes, Hydraulic AntilockGmc Yukon Xl 2001 Service Brakes, Hydraulic Antilock Review #10144338 GMC YUKON XL 2001 car safety problem was reported on Oct 01, 2005.GMC YUKON XL 2001, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK . i have a 2001 gmc yukon xl. recently there was a recall for a failure of the abs brake sensors which caused the brakes to pump rapidly at low speeds due to the seals of the bearings going bad and allowing dirt and road salt to get to the sensors. well in early july i had no problems with my vehicle. sometime in late july i started getting the pulsing of the brakes. i was told to wait for the recall, and was able to have the abs disabled by loosening one of the sensors. i brought the vehicle in, the dealer replaced both sensors in the front wheel hubs, but then stated the bearings had gone bad and i needed a new wheel hub. now the car still has no abs, and has a funny feel from that wheel hub. the truck has approx 53,000miles on it. how can the recall say it is based ona faulty seal of the wheel bearings going bad, and they are not responsible to replace the seal or the bearings if they go bad due to their defect? i have contacted gm customer service a number of times and all they say is "the recall covers the sensors only, the wheel hub is a wear and tear part" and do not show how their defect is not the cause. *nm.Mileage was 52000 miles. Gmc Yukon Xl 2001 Service Brakes, Hydraulic Antilock Review #10145436 GMC YUKON XL 2001 car safety problem was reported on Dec 16, 2005.GMC YUKON XL 2001, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK . we own a 2001 gmc yukon xl which is under recall for defective anti-lock brake system. we bought the car used with 100,000 miles on it. the car originally came from michigan; however, we live in tn. the car does not stop when you are traveling at low speeds. there have been countless instances where our car hasn't stopped and we have traveled into oncoming traffic. thankfully, we haven't had an accident involving another vehicle yet. when driving my son to school this morning, we had ice on our roads and it was even more impossible to stop...i worry that with winter conditions, and the need to drive slower, the possibility of an accident with this vehicle will increase. i had heard about the recall months ago on the local news and was worried why we hadn't received our notice. my husband and i have called gmc dealerships in tn repeatedly, but no one would help us until we received a notice from gmc. when i returned home this morning, on friday, december 16, i called the gmc recall information line and spoke with a representative there. i was first informed that my car doesn't qualify for the recall because it has high mileage and is not presently in a northern state. the fact that there is no gmc maintenance record on file was also an issue. i felt that the mileage and the fact that it's not in a northern state now shouldn't affect whether the car qualifies, i was told that it wasn't those factors after all, and that the vin number on our vehicle is traced and they felt no defective part had been placed in our particular vehicle originally. i was informed that any help from gmc for repairs would be on a goodwill basis only and that i would probably be better off taking the vehicle to a cheaper, independently owned car repair shop and have the repairs done myself. i feel gmc is responsible for these repairs. i feel if we lived in michigan, our car would already have been repaired and that gmc is using that fact to get out of funding the work. *jb.Mileage was 103241 miles. Gmc Yukon Xl 2001 Service BrakesGmc Yukon Xl 2001 Service Brakes Review #10510693 GMC YUKON XL 2001 car safety problem was reported on May 05, 2013.GMC YUKON XL 2001, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES . our dashboard abs indicator light came on. when we shut the vehicle off, a buzzing motor sound still kept running. we unplugged the battery so it would not run down. we looked on the internet and found a ton of other people have had the same incidents. we noticed that many of the people who experienced the exact problems we were having, also had brake issues while driving. we reconnected our battery, disconnected the abs module and the motor sound stopped, but now we don't have the abs system activated. is there a recall for this? it seems as though it is a recurring problem for many people and because it involves the brake system it seems very dangerous. according to other people it is very expensive to repair as well (approx. $1500.00). has gmc addressed this? we have a suburban yukon xl, 2001. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 46730 miles. Gmc Yukon Xl 2001 Service Brakes Review #10670299 GMC YUKON XL 2001 car safety problem was reported on Nov 26, 2014.GMC YUKON XL 2001, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES . i was traveling appproximately 40 mph on a 4 lane street. as i approached a stop light, the light changed from green to red. i applied the brakes and they did not work. i drove right through the intersection and avoided a collision with 2 other vehicles. i was going downhill and picking up speed as i approached the next intersection. the light changed to red and by this time i was going approximately 50 mph. as 2 cars went across in front of me from opposite directions, i was somehow able to drive between them. i was eventually able to shift into neutral and drove approximately 1/2 mile until i was able to turn off of the main road and into a parking lot. i ended up having to drive around the parking lot until i was able to stop. my 15 year old son and i were extremely shaken and very fortunate to have avoided an accident and serious injury or death. we had the vehicle towed and we were told that all of the brakes lines were completely corroded and there was nothing left of them. after a $160 towing bill and a $1,180 repair bill, we have discovered that this is a recurring problem with the 2001 gmc yukon. the dealership had 2 similar vehicles in their shop that day that had the same problem general motors needs to step up and admit that they made a huge mistake with these brake lines. this could have had a different outcome. my son and i could have been killed and/or another innocent person could have also been killed. my son says he will never ride in this vehicle again. please do something about this situation before somebody dies, as a result of these cheap steel brake lines that corrode, especially in states that use salt on their roads during the winter months. .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 72000 miles. My GMC K1500 sometimes starts running rough. It may correct it's self or may continue running rough untill you turn it off for a while then start it up again. Sometimes it may go a month with no problem then the problem may come right back. 1998 GMC Sierra 4x4. 118,000 miles but rebuilt engine installed at 78,000 miles. Drive carefully, slow take offs, 65 to 70 mph on road, but gas mileage is 10 to 11.5 mpg. Changed air filter but no better. Tire pressure is fine. Any suggestions for 2004 GMC Envoy~~~ I have no rt or lft brake lights.(only the bar brake light at the top of the hatch.) I was told that the right one wasn't working. When I went under the seat to check the fuse I noticed that it was the only fuse that was loose, j What can i do to repair the problem i have with my wipers being intermittend thank you. IT is stuck all pulled out , and will not rolll back in .
