Gmc Yukon 2004 Latches/locks/linkages Doors LatchGmc Yukon 2004 Latches/locks/linkages Doors Latch Review #10058481 GMC YUKON 2004 car safety problem was reported on Feb 13, 2004.GMC YUKON 2004, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH . i just bought a new 2004 gmc yukon, 2wd. miles on it was 188. after purchasing the vehicle, i drove it home which is about 10-15 miles away. as i get close to home, the bell in the car starts to chime, the roof lights turn on, and across the odemeter reader, it reads "passenger door ajar". i parked my car and had him shut the door again. as i drove off, the bell chimes, the lights are still on, and it still reads "passenger door ajar". so i get out and open and close all the doors including the trunk. same problem. this goes on even after i got to the dealership. told the sales manager the problem. he saw it for himself and told me to bring it to the mechanics. went to the mechanics and three of them saw the problem. one of them recognized it and told me that it was a wire loose on the passenger door. he called it an "auschuwaiter" (sp?). he said he would have to take the door apart. the manger called it a "simple situation" and this is what i replied, "it's not "simple" what if i had decided to take that drive with my 9 year old daughter and the problem occurs. and in the excitement, while i'm trying to figure out what to do, she un-buckles her seatbelt and opens the door, falls out into the freeway, i panic and lose control of the car. we cause this huge traffic accident with fatalities, my daughter counted." manager told me, it's a big car with 100,000 parts. not all of them are going to be perfect. 1/5000 was his estimate, problematic wise. the mechanic said he had seen this many times on a gmc, but i did not see any complaints filed so here's mine. it's just been a day after i got it repaired because they had to order the part in order to fix the problem. we'll see how it handles now. had i known of this problem, i wouldn't have signed my blood for it. thanks. .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 198 miles. Gmc Yukon 2004 Fuel System, Other Delivery Fuel PumpGmc Yukon 2004 Fuel System, Other Delivery Fuel Pump Review #10126612 GMC YUKON 2004 car safety problem was reported on Sept 28, 2004.GMC YUKON 2004, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP . 9-28-04: my 2004 gmc yukon had 22643 miles on it. i went to get in the car that morning to start it up and it would not start. the vehicle was still under warranty and had to be towed to the dealership. mechanic stated that my fuel pump had went out. i was told that the fuel pumps on these vehicles were faulty. they replaced my fuel pump. 5-24-05: my yukon had 50012 miles on it. i got in the vehicle that morning to start it and it would not start. once again it had to be towed into the dealership. the mechanic stated that my fuel pump went out and had to be replaced again. this time it cost us approximately $900.00 to repair. they informed us that the newest fuel pump had a lifetime warranty and if it happens again we will not have to pay for it. when my husband asked why the 2nd fuel pump they put on did not have a lifetime warranty, we were told that gm doesn't warranty any warranty parts. both times this happened i was stranded with my 3 young children. each time they replaced the fuel pumps but they cannot tell me why my fuel pumps seem to quit approximately every 25000 miles. i have contacted gm and they can't give me any answers either. i am in the process of trying to get them to repurchase my vehicle..Mileage was 22643 miles. Gmc Yukon 2004 Electrical System Instrument Panel Review #10176113 GMC YUKON 2004 car safety problem was reported on July 01, 2006.GMC YUKON 2004, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT PANEL . i purchased a 2004 gmc yukon, in 2005. over the last 6 months or so, my speedometer has been acting erratically - when it is hot or humid the speedometer starts to jump a little then starts to register a higher speed than i am moving. for example: i was sitting at a stop light and my speedometer read 90 mph. i noticed that when i would turn off the engine and repeatedly start up and shut off the engine, the speedometer reading would reduce by approximately 5 mph at a time, which means i had to start up and shut off the engine 18 or more times for it to return to 0. this happens quite often. i contacted my local gmc dealer repair department who knew exactly what was going on - evidently this is quite the common thing with these trucks and others - and told me that i would have to have the entire instrument panel replaced. pricing around $375 for the part and another $100 or so for installation. i have investigated complaints on the internet for this problem, with gm vehicles, and there are far too numerous out there for this to be a single incident. it is obvious that this is a defect. in my opinion, gm should be responsible for the repair with a recall. i can see where it would definitely cause alarm as far as a safety concern. fortunately i have not had an incident yet, but definitely feel that this should be looked into further. i just wanted to note that i also saw on an internet website for lawyers that they are gathering complaints together for a class action suit against gm. i thought it would be better to report this for investigation first. *jb.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 45000 miles. Gmc Yukon 2004 Service Brakes, HydraulicGmc Yukon 2004 Service Brakes, Hydraulic Review #10437609 GMC YUKON 2004 car safety problem was reported on Oct 29, 2011.GMC YUKON 2004, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS LLC had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC . the subject vehicle had recently been parked after towing a 29 foot long travel trailer. it had sat for approximately two weeks since we last used it. during the 2011 30 october snow storm in pa, i went to pick it up to use it. i started down the driveway and went to apply the brakes and the brake pedal traveled to the floor. all of the antilock and brake warning lights appeared on the dash. i was able to stop the vehicle and back it back the driveway and park it. we later called aaa and had it towed to a local chevy dealer. they diagnosed the problem and let us know that they had found a brake line that burst due to corrosion. this brake line is almost directly under the power brake booster assembly and is somewhat hidden from view. it lies atop the frame in this area and according to the dealer had corroded. according to the dealer they had to fabricate a replacement brake line and were able to replace it. they further indicated they looked at the other brake lines and did not see any further indication of corrosion. i have driven the gmc for about ten miles since the repair and the brakes appear to be back to normal. let me add this, i have owned 15 different vehicles in my life and not one has had to have a steel brake line replaced. this is the first. just like the other gm owners, when these lines fail the braking ability to stop this two ton vehicle is almost non-existent i am very thankful this line did not fail while towing the 29 foot travel trailer. *kb.Mileage was 64200 miles. Gmc Yukon 2004 Service Brakes Review #10609192 GMC YUKON 2004 car safety problem was reported on May 22, 2014.GMC YUKON 2004, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES . i was heading to ocean city maryland. as i was approaching the toll plaza to go over the bay bridge i slowed down and seem to had stopped when all the sudden my foot was on the break clear to the floor and i hit the box truck in front of me that was stopped for traffic. i looked at the dash and it was all lit up and blinking. the gentlman told me i had lost my breaks and that when he would move i would begin to move as well. i was not far from the begining of the bridge but i was six or seven lanes to the left in the easypass lane. i called my brother asking him what to do and he talked me through as i was panicing. i had a full tank of gas and lots of tractor trailers going through the plaza. i was for sure i was going to be hit or hit someone else. i rolled down my windows put my flashers on and began to blow my horn and yelling out the window i have no breaks so that i could get over to the right side of the road right before the bridge. as i did people did stop and let me get over and i had my foot on the break but they were not stopping the truck. as i was drifting over a toll facility tow truck was on the side and he yelled to me what was wrong. i told him no breaks and he told me to jump out and he jumped in and hit the truck up over a small enbackment to get it out of the way of all the traffic. he got it to stop and got out and looked up under the truck and could see that two of the break lines were snapped. i had the truck towed with over the bay bridge and they had to replace the two break lines that snapped and they could not bleed the lines fully since they were afraid that the other two lines could snap at any time. i got home and had to have the other two lines done as well. i have to say i was never so scared in my life i could have died for sure if i was going any faster up an over the bridge and down the hill getting off. worst day of my life..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 134455 miles. My GMC K1500 sometimes starts running rough. It may correct it's self or may continue running rough untill you turn it off for a while then start it up again. Sometimes it may go a month with no problem then the problem may come right back. 1998 GMC Sierra 4x4. 118,000 miles but rebuilt engine installed at 78,000 miles. Drive carefully, slow take offs, 65 to 70 mph on road, but gas mileage is 10 to 11.5 mpg. Changed air filter but no better. Tire pressure is fine. Any suggestions for 2004 GMC Envoy~~~ I have no rt or lft brake lights.(only the bar brake light at the top of the hatch.) I was told that the right one wasn't working. When I went under the seat to check the fuse I noticed that it was the only fuse that was loose, j What can i do to repair the problem i have with my wipers being intermittend thank you. I have a 2007 Yukon Denali XL and my climate control + button for the heat on the drivers side peeled off. Anyone out there having the same issue? It looks like the passengers side is doing the same. IT is stuck all pulled out , and will not rolll back in .
