GMC YUKON 2003 car safety problem was reported on July 15, 2006.GMC YUKON 2003, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK . no crash. vehicle had not been driven for approximately 6 weeks prior to july 15, 2006. vehicle was used for a short trip about 2 miles total. when brakes were applied the pedal went to the floor and longer than normal distance was required to stop. brakes were very spongy. fluid level checked found to be within normal range, normal color and no apparent leaks. vehicle had approximately 27,000 miles at the time. vehicle taken to dealership for repair of brakes (while there had 30,000 mile service done as well). dealer advised that the master cylinder was bad (interior failure) new part was ordered and placed on the vehicle. upon vehicle being returned the vehicle appeared to still have a very spongy pedal and the pedal traveled excessive distance (approximately 4") before feeling some pressure. travel distance appears to still be longer than before problem was discovered. tried driving the vehicle a few miles maybe 100 to see if anything changed with brakes. brakes remained the same. returned the vehicle to the dealership service manager agreed with me after testing that the brakes appeared spongy. attempt to fix by the dealership advised they "found air in the lines, bled brake system seems to be working in proper order". i picked up the vehicle and the brakes still feel the same, spongy pedal travels approximately 4" before any noticeable braking function, stopping distance still appears to be a little excessive. contacted gmc service online and advised of the problem and that i am in the process of contacting a different dealer to attempt service repairs. they gave me the name of another dealership to try. at this point problem is not resolved. *jb.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 27000 miles. GMC YUKON 2003 car safety problem was reported on June 04, 2013.GMC YUKON 2003, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES . was driving down my street @ 20mph, started to brake about 150 feet before the stop sign. the brake pedal went to about 1/2 to 3/4 inches above the floorboard before i came to a stop...about 5-6 inches of pedal play. i immediately traveled to my auto repair business doing a lot of downshifting and slow speed travel so as not to cause further damage or an accident. my abs has been disconnected due to corrosion and the prohibitive cost of repairing/replacing it(approx.$1600!!). i just drive cautiously just like when abs didn't exist. the technician inspected, he found 2 failed leaking steel brake lines...the rest of the brake lines were severely rusted. the tech re-constructed the brake lines from scratch using a corrosion-resistant alloy tubing. this tubing should not need replacing again. tech also labored and extracted brake bleed valves from calipers. these were tiny rusted nubs. tech re-assembled, filled and bled the entire brake system, re-tested for leaks and proper operation.all replacement lines were custom-bent from bulk tubing. the bleeding process took over 2 hours because the abs unit was in-operative. 10 1/2 hrs of tech's time was used. the actual brakes and components at the4 wheels remain unchanged. the entire bill came out at close to $1100 but was discounted by $200 due to customer loyalty,thanks!!! there are close to 900 complaints already concerning this problem with these full-sized gm products. yes i do live in the so=called rust-belt( cleveland ohio area). but i do know that this incident could have resulted in an accident had it occurred at a different time and location. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 126249 miles. GMC YUKON 2003 car safety problem was reported on Apr 15, 2013.GMC YUKON 2003, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES . was backing up into parking space and applied brakes to stop. brake pedal went all the way to the floor with no braking capability. had vehicle towed to service facility and they reported that the front brake lines had rusted through causing fluid to be pushed out. i thought that these vehicles had a dual brake cylinder so that there would be braking capability on the rear brakes but that did not happen. fortunately was going slow and applied emergency brake to stop. paid repair facility to replace front brake lines. second incident occurred on november, 2013 where i applied brakes prior to moving transmission from park to drive while on a hill. when i applied brakes the pedal went all the way to the floor with no braking capability. i determined that the left rear brake line is spewing fluid. again, no braking capability in the front brake system. had vehicle towed to a repair facility. i assume that the rear brake lines have also rusted through. i have read numerous incidents on internet about gmc brake lines rusting. this is a serious problem as there is no braking ability at all except for the emergency brake if one of the brake lines rusts. first, these lines should be made of materials that do not rust. i have multiple 60's and 70's vehicles where the brake lines are not rusted. second, there is a problem in the dual master cylinder of these vehicles where they fail to work when either the front or the rear lines fail. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 61007 miles. GMC YUKON 2003 car safety problem was reported on Sept 16, 2014.GMC YUKON 2003, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with AIR BAGS . on 9/16/14, i got into my car and started the engine. upon starting the engine, both airbags blew up. there was no accident or impact, they just blew up. there was nobody in the passenger seat and that one blew up too. i reported this incident to gm and they investigated it and have denied paying to repair damages. they say there was corrosion in the airbag sensor. nowhere in the owners manual does it say that i am responsible for maintaining these connections. this is a life safety device that should be assembled with the highest level of care a precision. thisnis not the responsibilty or the owner or operator, it is faulty equipment and should be the responsibilty of gm. now i have a car that i cannot drive, it has two blown airbags. it would appear that gm has had this problem ongoing, there are lots of complaints out there and it needs to be addressed.i find it hard to beleive that corrosion could cause deployment of airbags at any moment. i could have been driving when this happened and could have caused a serious accident and or injury..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 130074 miles. Gmc Yukon 2003 Reports

My GMC K1500 sometimes starts running rough. It may correct it's self or may continue running rough untill you turn it off for a while then start it up again. Sometimes it may go a month with no problem then the problem may come right back.
