Gmc Sierra 2500 Hd 2005 Steering Hydraulic Power Assist SystemGmc Sierra 2500 Hd 2005 Steering Hydraulic Power Assist System Review #10177349 GMC SIERRA 2500 HD 2005 car safety problem was reported on Dec 29, 2006.GMC SIERRA 2500 HD 2005, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM . truck has been in dealer numerous times for severe noise of power steering pump, loss of brake boost and steering assist at low speeds. pump was replaced and noised disappeared for just over 2 weeks and started again. dealer explained that gm is aware of problem, but is only taking calls about the problem from one area code while they try to isolate. dealer then replaced the steering gear with no correction of problem. at a standstill, turning the steering wheel about 3/4 turn results in complete loss of steering assist and sometimes brake boost, plus excessive pump noise. dealer is now trying to tell me this is normal. there is a technical bulletin on this problem. gm has instructed dealers not to replace the power steering pump. as they have received too many pumps under warranty that appear to have no problem. driving the vehicle at 1200 rpm and steering right or left will generate a groaning noise that drowns conversation in the cab and at times results in reduced or failed brake boost. the same loud groaning noise occurs when slowing the vehicle from highway speeds without any turning of the steering wheel, as the engine rpm falls through the 1200 rpm range. sounds like a hydraulic system with air in the system, low fluid or being push to over-capacity. gm is not being responsive to the excessive number of customer complaints. i know others with the same problem on several years of 2500hd duramax trucks. it is not at all difficult to find others with this exact same complaint. the noise appears to be an under capacity hydraulic system for power steering and brake boost. gm is either ignoring the problem or hoping the problem trucks will expire warranty. more owners need to complain and force a recall to repair this defect in design. contrary to my dealer's assertion, this is not normal. i have been driving long enough to know "normal" and a "problem dodge" when i see it..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 1 miles. Gmc Sierra 2500 Hd 2005 Power Train Automatic TransmissionGmc Sierra 2500 Hd 2005 Power Train Automatic Transmission Review #10390385 GMC SIERRA 2500 HD 2005 car safety problem was reported on Feb 15, 2011.GMC SIERRA 2500 HD 2005, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS LLC had a problem with POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION . gm states that dexron-vi is fully backwards compatible with all dexron-iii applications. my vehicle is a 2005 gmc sierra k2500hd, with an 8.1l gasoline engine and allison 1000 transmission. after performing a routine service on my transmission (fluid drain and refill), replacing the dexron-iii with dexron-vi, i noticed the seals and gaskets leaking from around the transmission. upon further research, i found that the synthetic dexron-vi is not compatible with certain seals installed in allison brand transmissions. allison transmission does not approve the use of dexron-vi in its transmissions due to the seal incompatibility (allison service tip #1099p). another allison document (sa5429en) lists two serial number cutoffs, prior to which contain seals incompatible with dexron-vi. the situation has yet to be resolved - gm denies any possible incompatibility, and will not warrant any damages, while allison representatives have told me that the problem is a direct result of dexron-vi. the estimated cost to replace all of the seals in the transmission is $1,900.00. *tr.Mileage was 138307 miles. Gmc Sierra 2500 Hd 2005 SteeringGmc Sierra 2500 Hd 2005 Steering Review #10670356 GMC SIERRA 2500 HD 2005 car safety problem was reported on Mar 12, 2009.GMC SIERRA 2500 HD 2005, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with STEERING . after returning from a day of shopping, i parked my truck at the back, like always. i had been noticing oil spots for the last few days but chalked it up to age and mileage of the truck. after about two hours i saw smoke from the back area where i parked. i ran outside to catch to my surprise! my truck was on fire, i as quickly as possible, grabbed the garden hose and put out the fire! i realized as i looked, that the fire had started at the area under the hood where the fuses, and wiring were located. as i slowly rebuilt my truck, i realized that the fire was not the only problem that i had! the fact of the matter was that if the fire had not shut my truck down, there were a whole array of other problems that i would of had to repair..Vehicle was on fire. 0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 118542 miles. Gmc Sierra 2500 Hd 2005 Electrical SystemGmc Sierra 2500 Hd 2005 Electrical System Review #10670937 GMC SIERRA 2500 HD 2005 car safety problem was reported on Jan 08, 2015.GMC SIERRA 2500 HD 2005, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM . today when i parked my gmc sierra 2500hd, i turned off the key switch and i noticed my blower motor was still running. after a short period of time i smelt something burning. i went out underneath the hood of my vehicle located the fuse box and removed the 40 amp blower motor fuse and that shut down the heater and the smell starting going away. it was 19 degrees here in oklahoma at the time of incident. i did some research on the internet and got several hits about gmc trucks that experienced the same issue except some of the vehicles burned completely to the ground. i also got information from the internet that general motors of canada recalled all there gm products that had the same blower motor assembly. i filed a complaint with general motors, detroit. they said they had no recalls..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 155000 miles. Gmc Sierra 2500 Hd 2005 Power TrainGmc Sierra 2500 Hd 2005 Power Train Review #10717648 GMC SIERRA 2500 HD 2005 car safety problem was reported on May 11, 2015.GMC SIERRA 2500 HD 2005, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with POWER TRAIN . slight clunking started when shifting into drive. fluid on garage floor. off to aamco. found two holes in transfercase. the "4 star buffering ring" on shaft inside pounded two holes in casing. just step on gas and torque pounds the ring into the casing until holes are made. all fluid pours out. most people wont even know its happened until castastrophic failure. several seals, chain, two gears, 3 bottles of fluid, "4 star buffer ring" and a new casing half was required. $2654.00 to repair for a 12 month warranty. aamco pointed out i did nothing wrong. its an engineered failure point by gm. add this to ; #1-speedo gear failure-20mph and gage reads 90 mph, #2-cd/radio burnt up, #3-water pump failure 16k miles, #4-cab of truck not attached to frame correctly "cab wobbling", #5-roof temp control unit failure, #6-passenger window motor stops working below 25 degrees, #7-factory installed battery was the wrong one when bought new in ogden, utah. now,.... airbags???.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 153200 miles. My GMC K1500 sometimes starts running rough. It may correct it's self or may continue running rough untill you turn it off for a while then start it up again. Sometimes it may go a month with no problem then the problem may come right back. 1998 GMC Sierra 4x4. 118,000 miles but rebuilt engine installed at 78,000 miles. Drive carefully, slow take offs, 65 to 70 mph on road, but gas mileage is 10 to 11.5 mpg. Changed air filter but no better. Tire pressure is fine. Any suggestions for 2004 GMC Envoy~~~ I have no rt or lft brake lights.(only the bar brake light at the top of the hatch.) I was told that the right one wasn't working. When I went under the seat to check the fuse I noticed that it was the only fuse that was loose, j What can i do to repair the problem i have with my wipers being intermittend thank you. I have a 2007 Yukon Denali XL and my climate control + button for the heat on the drivers side peeled off. Anyone out there having the same issue? It looks like the passengers side is doing the same. IT is stuck all pulled out , and will not rolll back in .
