GMC R1500 1991 car safety problem was reported on Feb 24, 2005.GMC R1500 1991, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP . GM ISSUED A RECALL FOR 2000-2001 SUBURBANS TO REPAIR A FAULTY ELECTRIC WIRE ON THE FUEL PUMP WHICH CAUSED STALLING. I HAD TO PAY $85 DIRECTLY AND APPROXIMATELY $500 IN CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE TO REPAIR THE EXACT SAME WIRE WHICH FAILED IN MY 1991 GMC SUBURBAN. GM REFUSED TO REIMBURSE DIRECT COSTS OF REPAIR. THIS WAS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION AS IT COULD OCCUR WHILE DRIVING, ENTAILING COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES.*AK.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 114900 miles. My GMC K1500 sometimes starts running rough. It may correct it's self or may continue running rough untill you turn it off for a while then start it up again. Sometimes it may go a month with no problem then the problem may come right back.
