TWO OF THE REAR SEAT BELTS ON MY 1988 GMC JIMMY - FULL SIZE FAILED COMPLETELY. THE ANGLE BRACKET HAS A STEEL STRAP WHICH IS RIVETED IN PLACE TO IT AND THE TO THE END OF THE SEAT BELT(S). THIS STEEL STRAP BROKE IN COMPLETELY IN HALF , A VINYL COVERING HELD IT TOGETHER SUCH THAT THE USER IS UNAWARE THAT IT IS COMPLETELY BROKEN IN HALF. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION SINCE THE SEAT BELT HAS NO STRENGTH LEFT WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THIS HAPPENED TO TWO OF THE THREE REAR SEAT BELTS. THE MIDDLE SEAT BELT IS ATTACHED DIFFERENTLY AND DID NOT FAIL. I DISCOVERED THIS WHEN I WAS REBUILDING THE VEHICLE. NO REPLACEMENT SEAT BELTS ARE AVAILABLE AND I WOULD NOT BUY THE ORIGINAL BELTS IF THEY WERE AVAILABLE.THIS IS EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS! I WILL REPLACE WITH AFTERMARKET BELTS. BUT THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL AND A REDESIGN OF THESE BELTS. PART OF THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE REAR SEAT FOLDS UP AND DOWN. THE VINYL DOES NOT KEEP THE BELT OUT OF THE WAY WHEN THE SEAT IS PUT DOWN. THIS CAUSES BENDING OF THE STEEL STRAP WHICH IS NOT DESIGNED FOR BENDING. IT IS DESIGNED ONLY FOR TENSION. THIS NEED ONLY HAPPEN ONCE TO BREAK THE STEEL STRAP! My GMC K1500 sometimes starts running rough. It may correct it's self or may continue running rough untill you turn it off for a while then start it up again. Sometimes it may go a month with no problem then the problem may come right back. 1998 GMC Sierra 4x4. 118,000 miles but rebuilt engine installed at 78,000 miles. Drive carefully, slow take offs, 65 to 70 mph on road, but gas mileage is 10 to 11.5 mpg. Changed air filter but no better. Tire pressure is fine. Any suggestions for 2004 GMC Envoy~~~ I have no rt or lft brake lights.(only the bar brake light at the top of the hatch.) I was told that the right one wasn't working. When I went under the seat to check the fuse I noticed that it was the only fuse that was loose, j What can i do to repair the problem i have with my wipers being intermittend thank you. I have a 2007 Yukon Denali XL and my climate control + button for the heat on the drivers side peeled off. Anyone out there having the same issue? It looks like the passengers side is doing the same.
