Ford Fusion Suspension Safety Report | Sept 09, 2013
Reported on Sept 09, 2013
NOTICED A NOISE IN RIGHT FRONT QUADRANT WHILE SLOWLY DRIVING THROUGH LOCAL PARKING LOT. NOISE APPEARED HAVE A ROTATING' COMPONENT. SUSPECTED A CV JOINT FAILURE. DEALER DETERMINED A FAILURE IN LOWER BALL JOINT. DESIGN REQUIRES REPLACEMENT OF LOWER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY. RECOMMENDED REPLACING BOTH LOWER CONTROL ARMS. COST TO ME IS $750.00. DEALER REP'S STATED THAT FAILURE IS THE RESULT OF ABSENCE OF GREASE FITTINGS IN SUSPENSION ASSEMBLIES. OEM REPLACEMENTS MAY NOT HAVE GREASE FITTINGS EITHER. *TR | |
