FORD FOCUS 2011 car safety problem was reported on Nov 16, 2012.FORD FOCUS 2011, manufactured by Ford Motor Company had a problem with SUSPENSION . ford focus tires 2011 ford focus problems with tires/suspension and warranties purchased 2011 ford focus new 20 months ago (with kumho tires, evidently installed at factory) and it has had regular dealer(s) maintenance. took to purchasing dealer - (luther) north country, coon rapids mn for regular maintenance on november 16, 2012 with 35,366 miles. was told that tires were 2/32 showing cord (several 1" by 3" spots), 2/32, 4-6/32, and 4-6/32; and dealer recommended 4 new tires (tiger paw) costing $561.95. i asked and was told there was no price reduction from either ford or kumho warranty. note that ford tire warranty guide booklet states 30% for 24k 36k miles; kumho (web) states 60k mileage coverage and 40% for 36k. incidentally as a conservatively driving mechanical engineer, both my new sable and ranger met/exceeded tire mileage coverages. i have been happy with north country, but have lost confidence with focus and kumho tire company; just got new tires from a local, well-regarded, tire shop; and think ford/kumho should reimburse me at least $180 (30% of the new tires cost). note: i hadn't imagined 60k miles tires going through the cords at 36k miles. we recently returned from a 4500 mile mainly interstate trip. if it had been much longer, a tire might well have blown.on the interstate. *tr .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 35366 miles. FORD FOCUS 2011 car safety problem was reported on Aug 13, 2012.FORD FOCUS 2011, manufactured by Ford Motor Company had a problem with UNKNOWN OR OTHER . at approx. 40,800 mi, doors began to intermittently not unlock, no matter if i used the key, the remote, the inside switches or handles. took the vehicle to the dealership, they tried to give me paperwork on how to use the remote. at about 41,000 mi multiple doors locked and it was taken back to the dealership, at 41,109 mi they replaced driver's, front passenger, and rear right: latches, linkages and control rods, partially at my cost. at 44,568 mi dealership replaced left rear actuator/latch, partially at my cost. at about 58,000 mi intermittent problems began again, at 63,638 mi dealership blew out the locks and told me it was because i lived on a gravel road and had to blow it out or bring it back to have them blow it out monthly. two days later all four doors locked and i couldn't get in, 3 weeks later they unlocked randomly, despite the fact the car hadn't moved (i couldn't get in it). i can open the front doors by pulling really hard if i am inside, one of the backdoors i can pull the latch up with needle nose pliers from inside, the other i can't open once it locks. i have fought the dealership as well as corporate ford and they won't do anything, they say they are aware of the problem but won't do anything about it. this is a safety issue, i had an infant get locked in the back thank heavens i wasn't in a wreck, we took her out and had to leave her car seat in the back (this is how i figured out the needle nose plier trick). i have 3 kids in the back of my car almost all the time and it scares me if i crash, they may or may not be able to get out. i can never lock my car, because i may not be able to get back in, and now the drivers door doesn't always lock anyways, even when i'm going down the road and it used to auto lock. there are complaints similar to mine for several model years of focuses all over the internet. make ford be responsible, do a recall!!!!.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 41109 miles.
