Ford F-250 2008 Seat BeltsFord F-250 2008 Seat Belts Review #10218264 FORD F-250 2008 car safety problem was reported on Feb 09, 2008.FORD F-250 2008, manufactured by FORD MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with SEAT BELTS . my husband and i just bought a new 2008 ford f-250 crew cab pickup. when i was installing the car seat, after we got home, i noticed that it doesn't have any lower anchors for the latch system. i did notice the upper tethers when we were looking at the vehicle before we bought it, so i figured it would have the lower anchors. why isn't there any lower anchors, that is part of the latch system. also, the middle seat belt in the back seat is not a retractable one, but the front passenger seat is. that does not make sense, you are not to have a child in the front seat, especially when you have a back seat. putting your child in the middle of the back seat is the safest place for them and there is not even a retractable seat belt or lower anchors for a car seat there. is ford trying to cut corners on safety? if i would have noticed that i would have thought twice before purchasing the vehicle. i thought that it was standard for all new vehicles to have the latch system. i realize that it is a heavy duty pick up but that doesn't mean that kids won't ride in them. they still need the proper safety seat options that the light duty pickups and cars do. *tr .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Ford F-250 2008 problem was reported in BANCROFT, NE. Ford F-250 2008 SteeringFord F-250 2008 Steering Review #10241169 FORD F-250 2008 car safety problem was reported on May 01, 2008.FORD F-250 2008, manufactured by FORD MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with STEERING . it happen about a month after i first got the truck. i was getting to a stop sign and the steering wheel and brakes locked, i wasn't able to turn at all and i had a really hard time braking, i had to use a lot of force to brake or to turn the wheel even a little. that happened 3 different time. at a stop sign and once at a turn light which was the worst cause i had to go straight into the opposite direction. that was all in a 2 weeks after the one month of having the truck. it was completely stock. after taking it to the dealer ship they said nothing was wrong and they couldn't do anything. 3 weeks later i bought so mud tires for it. and about 2 or 3 weeks later i started having trouble with the steering box. when id be at a stop or not moving at all, am not able to turn the wheels and it makes a weird sound when i turn the wheel. this still happens everytime time i drive when am stopping or just turned it on, anytime am not moving or steeping on the gas, am not able to turn the wheels. i took it shortly after it first happened and they test drove it and agreed something was wrong so the said they fix it. it took them a week to order parts and get it fixed, but 3 days after getting it back it started acting the same. so i took it back again and they said it was the tires i had??. but i have several friends with the same truck and tires and they have no problems. yet they wanted me to put the stock tires back and take it to them. haven't yet. so they told me to take it to another dealership to see what they say. *tr.Mileage was 8000 miles. Ford F-250 2008 Tires Pressure Monitoring And Regulating SystemsFord F-250 2008 Tires Pressure Monitoring And Regulating Systems Review #10274515 FORD F-250 2008 car safety problem was reported on Jan 01, 1901.FORD F-250 2008, manufactured by FORD MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS . 2008 ford f250 has a problem with the tire pressure sensor system. *nj the consumer stated an alarm message appeared as if the tires had low pressure. within the last 18 months, the consumer stated there had been six alarm messages. two were for out of specifications pressure and four were for sensor fault. in each case of the pressure alarm, all four tires were within 2 psi of each other. which was verified by the dealer. the consumer was informed the sensor needed to be trained in the dealers shop. once it was done the problem ceased. the problem seemed to recur after tire rotation, however only under certain circumstances. no alarm was forthcoming while driving around town, but as soon as the consumer drove on the interstate and traveled approximately 4 miles at 65 mph, the alarm activated. the consumer was given several explanations as to why it was happening. he was first told it was his cell phone causing the problem, but the problem persisted, next he was told that the tires should be inflated with nitrogen, as it would stop the pressure variations and avoid the alarm. 2 sensors were replaced. *jb updated 08/07/09.*jb the consumer was told the system was designed that way and no problem existed. updated 08/20/09.*jb.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):1FTSX21588E. '08 ford f250. severe front end shimmy. ford said that this is related to tire pressure. ii have owned 5 f250's and did not experience this until ford went to coil spring/trailing arm front suspension. tire pressure on a truck is relative to the load carried. my dealer just quoted the company line and did nothing. the company did send out a notice concerning the problem, so obviously they are aware of it. i believe this is a design flaw that warrants your attention. the various forums on line with ford truck owners cites this again and again. when the shimmy happens it is difficult to control the truck, particularly in a curve. if i put company recommended pressure of 80psi in my tires in an empty truck, it would be a safety hazard related to traction and also greatly reduce tire mileage. it appears to me that ford changed the front suspension design with no long term research and development and therefore is marketing a unsafe and defective product. i respectively request you look into this matter and anything you can do will be sincerely appreciated. *tr.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):1FTSX21R38E. Ford F-250 2008 Service Brakes, ElectricFord F-250 2008 Service Brakes, Electric Review #10361012 FORD F-250 2008 car safety problem was reported on Oct 15, 2010.FORD F-250 2008, manufactured by FORD MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRIC . three months after purchase of a 2008 f-250 ford heavy duty truck, i noticed the brakes squeaking. on 4 occasions i have taken the truck for service to check for the cause of this problem. the first 3 times at the same dealership i was told that the squeak was caused by "road debris", and that nothing could be done to prevent this from recurring.( the dealership cleaned the brake pads).on the forth occasion, the dealership reported that the brakes were fine and had 60 % capacity. this occurred on 8/3/2010. october 15, 2010 the squeaking was so loud, we took it to a third dealership where it was found that the rear brakes were severely worn and rusted. it required a sledge hammer to remove them due to the amount of corrosion that had built up. the front brakes were fine. our concern is that there is/was a defect in the rear brakes and that this is a safety issue, since we pull a heavy trailer. we have kept the parts for further inspection at our residence. i have contacted the ford customer care line who recommended this site. and who offered no further assistance with this problem, including how to prevent further problems. *tr.Mileage was 30000 miles. Ford F-250 2008 Service Brakes, HydraulicFord F-250 2008 Service Brakes, Hydraulic Review #10429234 FORD F-250 2008 car safety problem was reported on Mar 12, 2010.FORD F-250 2008, manufactured by FORD MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC . i bought my truck in november 2008 brand new. at approximately 13000 miles i had my right front brake caliper freeze up. i was on my way home from work pulled in my driveway got out and saw smoke coming from around my left front wheel. i took it in to the dealership the following day and the dealership had to install a new caliper, pads and rotor. this was all done under warranty, unfortunately this same thing has happened 3 more times - once on the right front,once on the right rear, and again on the left front. the last time was at 48000 miles and i had to pay for the repairs because i was out of warranty. every incident was the same with the resulting repairs being the same (new caliper, new rotor,and new pads. i hope that something can be done to make ford remedy this situation before someone gets hurt. living in michigan i drive on slippery roads and if this were to happen on slippery roads i fear what the outcome of the incident may be. this i feel is a very unsafe condition, i pull a 34 foot fifthwheel camper and would not want to experience this while pulling it. i know of at least 5 other trucks with this same problem ranging in years from 2005 to present. ironically ford has issued a tsb on the 2010-2011 ford superduty for this exact problem. i believe they need to expand the tsb or issue a recall on all of these trucks. i am on the verge of getting rid of my truck because i feel it is not real safe to drive.hopefully something will be done about this. *tr.Mileage was 13697 miles. Ford F-250 2008 Engine And Engine Cooling Review #10452694 FORD F-250 2008 car safety problem was reported on Mar 13, 2012.FORD F-250 2008, manufactured by FORD MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING . on march 13, 2012, i filed a complaint with ford motor company customer service regarding a repair they made to my truck. the case number is [xxx]. i had to replace two radiator hoses costing me $500. they were not defective due to abuse or maint. they had a design flaw per the service tech. i brought the truck in for one of them was leaking. they replaced both for they said that the other one was going to leak eventually. they were replaced with a newly designed hose to prevent the leaking. the tech stated that they have had to replace many on this model and year truck. i realize the truck was past the 3 year/36000 mile warranty; however it should have been covered under the power train warranty or ford should have covered the cost. it was a manufacture design flaw and could have blown out on the road causing a break down and highway safety hazard. all i'm asking for is that ford acknowledge the problem and a recall be mandated for the vehicle. the dealership said that was the only way i could be reimbursed. should you require any additional information please let me know. i'm sure other owners have had this same issue. also, i have in my possession the two defective and design flawed radiator hoses. i made the dealership give them to me. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr.Mileage was 49000 miles. Ford F-250 2008 Vehicle Speed ControlFord F-250 2008 Vehicle Speed Control Review #10474362 FORD F-250 2008 car safety problem was reported on Sept 01, 2012.FORD F-250 2008, manufactured by Ford Motor Company had a problem with VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL . while towing a 10,000 pound 5th wheel trailer i needed to speed up to merge into the left lane. the truck was on cruise control set at 50 mph. i stepped down and entered passing gear. after the merge i let off the throttle but the truck continued to accelerate in passing gear. i stepped on the brakes but the cruise control would not release and the truck continued to accelerate. i tried repeatedly to disengage the cruise using the brakes. i then pressed the cruise control "off" button repeatedly to no avail. at this point i pressed and held the brake pedal as hard as i could while the diesel engine continued to race at max power. i was able to slow to about 30 mph before the engine started to overcome the fading brakes. at this point i turned the key off and coasted to a stop. i tried to restart the engine twice and it immediately started at max throttle and i immediately turned the key off. i called ford for a tow. after about 20 minutes i tried to restart the engine and it started normally so i cancelled the tow. the truck seems to be working normally and cruise also works normally. i haven't tried to enter passing gear while in cruise and won't as this incident almost cause me to have a catastrophic accident. i plan to take the truck to the dealer to be analyzed. this was a major safety problem and could easily have caused a fatal accident. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 28000 miles. Ford F-250 2008 TiresFord F-250 2008 Tires Review #10567445 FORD F-250 2008 car safety problem was reported on Mar 05, 2014.FORD F-250 2008, manufactured by Ford Motor Company had a problem with TIRES . today i replaced the second tire from a set of four lt275/70r18e1 bfg commercial t/a a/s tires purchased on november 23, 2010. both tires were replaced with less than 30,000 miles of wear because of tread separation. fortunately, in both cases the issue was discovered before catastrophic failure. the separation events happened about 3,000 miles apart. because of the dangers of tread separation, i went ahead and replaced the other two tires on the vehicle. because those two tires were not currently exhibiting signs of separation, the tire service company was not able to obtain any warranty proration. i complained in writing to the manufacturer and asked for a full replacement set. i received a reply that basically said for me to work with the tire service company and that the only thing they would agree to would be a proration. this response is totally unacceptable as it is my understanding that tread separation is the result of a manufacturing defect, and since two out of the four tires from the same set exhibited this defect it is highly probable that it was merely a matter of time before the other two exhibited the defect as well. i also found the response to be totally unacceptable because this company has a recall in place for similar tires and therefore should be fully aware of the safety implications. *tr.Mileage was 79000 miles. my 95 ford exploere engine surges when turn my air conditioner on Ihave a 1994 ford probe which has started to idle very low and stalls at times. It is a 4 cyl. w/ air and a 5 speed. any ideas? I replaced the fuel filter, air flow meter and added HEAT to gas tank to dry and clean fuel system. I think my pcv valv should a standard transmission truck start when it is in gear without the clucth engaged? should a 2005 standard transmission ford ranger start when in gear without the clutch engaged? 96 Ford F250 Emergency brake lever gets caught on the auto adjustment spring, causing brakes to be permanently engaged, also allowing the parking break lever to rub against the hub, which can cut through over time. try pushing the pedals button closer to you. you must have the pedal adjustment button to the left of the radio, looks like a foot, that brings the pedals more inward towards the driver. hope it helped. or look carefully if a wire has corroded. it i would check ur multi switch on ur stearing colum on the pedal whats the sound Just bought an '06 E-350 van. Left d'ship got on highway and noticed shimmy when I got to 60....same problem???? that happened to me last night! If you rock the car back and for while shifting then it should release the safety lock! why does it take turning off the veh. while pulling in on the shifter arm, them starting it again while still holding it inwards ever so slightly??
