Ford Escape Vehicle Speed Control Safety Report | July 24, 2013
Reported on July 24, 2013
TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY, GOING 60 MPH, MY WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR WENT INTO LIMP MODE. THIS HAPPENED TWO MORE TIMES UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO GET SOMEWHERE SAFE TO CALL A TOW TRUCK. IT TURNS OUT I HAVE A BAD THROTTLE BODY WHICH I HAVE SINCE LEARNED IS QUITE COMMON IN 2010 FORD ESCAPES. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS ITEM. YES, THE ENGINE DID WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO, BUT LOSING POWER AT 60 MPH DURING RUSH HOUR IS QUITE DANGEROUS. *TR | |
