Ford Escape 2007 TiresFord Escape 2007 Tires Review #10196572 FORD ESCAPE 2007 car safety problem was reported on May 30, 2007.FORD ESCAPE 2007, manufactured by FORD MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with TIRES . bought a 2007 ford edge in may 2007 with continental tires cross contact lx 24560r18 in a option package with a 17 inch spare. very shortly after the purchase had car at dealer for vibration. dealer balanced all 4 tires. went back second time for tire vibration mechanic and dealer claimed it was normal tire operation. at 40 mph slight vibration as speed is increased 70 mph it was more prevalent. it was not a smooth riding tire never felt this with any other vehicle we have purchased. feel this could be a dangerous problem with continental reputation and only 300 miles on vehicle at that time and now close to 1000 miles now. need nhtsa to investigate this tire because of dealers and fords neglect. do not know if it is the tires or the vehicle. with ford's problem with their tires in the past and with the injuries and deaths that had occurred i think this is a very serious problem that needs to be looked at by nhtsa and ford. rode in another ford edge with the same tires with the owner of the dealership same problem with vibration but not as bad as my personal vehicle. owner of dealership acknowledged the problem. owner of dealership made a call to representative of ford for our area waiting for a date to meet with him and discuss this problem as of today. trying to file this complaint my tire name and size and vehicle name was not on your list so i just picked one so i could send this to you again my tire is continental cross contact lx 24560r18 on a 2007 ford edge. thank you.*ak.Ford Escape 2007 problem was reported in BRUNSWICK, OH. Ford Escape 2007 Vehicle Speed ControlFord Escape 2007 Vehicle Speed Control Review #10310283 FORD ESCAPE 2007 car safety problem was reported on Feb 09, 2010.FORD ESCAPE 2007, manufactured by FORD MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL . on 02/09/10 i was driving my 2007 ford escape. the gas pedal stuck. i could only get it to work by using my cruise control buttons. i proceeded to my friend's house. it happened several times on the along the 13 mile ride. when i arrived i went online and googled my make and model along with the words "accelerator stuck". i found several websites where there was a discussion of the issue going back to the 3002 model. i read that it happened to several years of the same model of vehicle. i discovered the fix was replacing the throttle body and it solves the problem. i called kendall ford (my dealership) and left a message for my service manager. he returned my call in less than 45 minutes. i explained, he listened, he told me to bring it in and said there is no recall so i would have to pay for it. i brought in my vehicle and left it and went to work. i called ford consumer affairs in detroit and spoke with a representative, the lady who answered. she took my vin number. i told her i researched online and this was an ongoing issue dating back to at least 2001. i asked why no recall she said ford monitors repairs and had not deemed this a problem. i told her it was a known issue and i would file a complaint with my state ag and she told me she would note it. my car was delivered to me at work and the cost was $305.43; $140.53 for parts and $164.43 for labor. i called my service manager and asked about the cost. he verified it. he told me they had done this repair "many" times on this model of vehicle. i feel since this issue has been going on since at least 2001 ford should have looked into it and perhaps this vehicle should be recalled. it is obviously a known issue. i have filed complaints with the bbb and the oregon ag. *tr.Mileage was 72000 miles. Ford Escape 2007 Vehicle Speed ControlFord Escape 2007 Vehicle Speed Control Review #10372663 FORD ESCAPE 2007 car safety problem was reported on Dec 07, 2010.FORD ESCAPE 2007, manufactured by FORD MOTOR COMPANY had a problem with VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL . i own a 2007 ford escape, 45,000 miles, car is outside of warranty. on 12/7/10, i was driving to work & tried to lane change ,the gas pedal became stuck, i could not accelerate. luckily i was able to merge back into my lane & repeatedly force the pedal down to get the car to finally accelerate. the problem persisted the remaining part of the day & next, and i took the car to my ford dealership on december 8. on december 9th , the service manager advised the throttle was bent , replacement at cost of $300 and the part is being ¿redesigned ¿ and not be available to be shipped from the part supplier until 12/20/10 ,the dealership would not receive the part until sometime in january 2011 .the car is not safe to drive and would need to remain at the dealership . i asked why the part was being redesigned, he had no answer, to me means the original part in my car is a manufacturer defect. the car is only 3 years old, the throttle cannot get ¿bent¿ on it¿s own the part was defective when installed, obviously a common problem that the part dealer is aware of & redesigning . i was also advised the mechanics discovered a faulty abs tone ring, cracked, $145.00 to replace , i asked how can that happen, the service manager stated probably due to the weather ?? looking at numerous websites this is a common problem with the ford escape, along with the accelerator sticking . i called ford customer service, spoke to a rep & two supervisors, who all refuse any type of compensation for two known issues of the manufacturer defects since there has been no recall for the 2007 model. as a consumer i am outraged that ford will not stand by their product for a loyal ford customer .it is december 28,2010 , and i still do not have my car back as still at the dealership . the problem is consistent on all the 2007 models, ford, please issue a recall for the safety of your customers. my total repair bill will be $450-$600 , due to defective parts from ford . *tr.Mileage was 45000 miles. Ford Escape 2007 EngineFord Escape 2007 Engine Review #10482901 FORD ESCAPE 2007 car safety problem was reported on July 29, 2012.FORD ESCAPE 2007, manufactured by Ford Motor Company had a problem with ENGINE . had been driving for 4 hours at 70 mph, got off interstate to use restroom and while exiting; when applying the brakes, the engine shut off. vehicle placed in park, restarted, placed in drive and again immediately the engine shut off. had to have it towed and i was 2 hours from home. ford dealer said it was computer and updated some things and it worked fine for 2 months. again on 10/13/12 was getting off exit near home and when applying brakes, the engine shut off. same thing. had to have it towed to ford dealer where i was told it was the "torque converter" locking up. after vehicle sat for a week; it is now drivable again but still needs to have this replaced and transmission too due to this problem. i don't have that money just lying around. after doing research, i discovered this is a common problem with this vehicle from prior years past but obviously ford has never fixed the problem. i have done regular maintenance on vehicle while i have owned it for the last 4 years, i have taken very good care of it. this is ridiculous; if ford knows this is an issue and actually sends out "service bulletins" on this very issue and tells dealers exactly how to fix it then they should pay for it. this is ridiculous. this vehicle is only 5 years old. please help. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 120000 miles. Ford Escape 2007 Seat BeltsFord Escape 2007 Seat Belts Review #10541900 FORD ESCAPE 2007 car safety problem was reported on Sept 01, 2013.FORD ESCAPE 2007, manufactured by Ford Motor Company had a problem with SEAT BELTS . was driving in town with passengers properly buckled in seat belts in our 2007 ford escape with 67,000 miles. sudden stop and the passenger in the rear passengers seat had the seat belt pull loose from the connector. inspection showed that the seat belt stitching on that particular seat belt had apparently never been properly stitched and there were only a few threads holding the seat belt together. close inspection of the other seat belts in the car showed the rest had a white inspection tag while this seat belt did not have one at the "supposed" sewed joint. looks like the sewing machine needle drilled the holes but did not put threads through the two pieces. we are not the original owners but close inspection appears to be an original defect and the seat belt was apparently never properly sewn to the clip. contacted (through champion ford in corpus christi, texas our home) a lady named lisette who apparently is the texas ford customer representative and she stated that since the vehicle was out of warranty and we were not the original owner that it was not ford's responsibility to do anything about this serious safety problem. no apparent recalls on similar problems and no one but ford apparently knows how many "replacement" seat belt assemblies have been purchased by ford escape owners. pictures of the seat belt separated from the clip is available. *jb.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 67000 miles. Ford Escape 2007 Electrical SystemFord Escape 2007 Electrical System Review #10545961 FORD ESCAPE 2007 car safety problem was reported on Oct 01, 2013.FORD ESCAPE 2007, manufactured by Ford Motor Company had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM . 2002 ford escape. consumer writes in regards to abs recall notice. *smd the consumer took his daughters vehicle to the dealer, after receiving a recall notice in the mail. the consumer informed the service advisor, the abs light had been coming on and going off for a while. upon the return of the vehicle, the abs light was on continuously. the consumer returned to the service desk and reported the issue and he was informed he could leave the vehicle for diagnosis, but there would be a fee of $ 130.00. the consumer refused and then took the vehicle to a local repair shop. the local repair shop informed the consumer, the problem they were encountering was an abs code b1676 which was a result of no electrical power to the abs module. the repair shop stated, because the light would no longer go out, that the current situation was caused by performing the work on the recall. they also explained, that the recall that was performed was to add power to the junction block to supply electricity to the abs module in such a way the vehicle would not catch fire, and that power was not being supplied to two of the wires at all. the repair shop discovered there were two incorrect splices performed at the dealer. apparently, there were two splices that should have been made and the mechanic only put a heat-shrink tape on the connection and did not electrically connect the wires. after the repair of the two splices, the shop found that one of the two wires supplying power to the abs module still only had three volts at one of the connectors. the shop found additional recalls as well. after inspecting the harness per the recall notice, he found the insulation on some of the wires damaged and one of the wires was corroded internally causing the low voltage problem. he also noted that the inspection cover on the connector had been removed for inspection and the master cylinder cap looked newer and not the original. additionally, when he removed the connector from the abs unit, there was no grease applied in the cavity like the recall instructed..Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):1FMYU04192K. Ford Escape 2007 Unknown Or OtherFord Escape 2007 Unknown Or Other Review #10616488 FORD ESCAPE 2007 car safety problem was reported on Mar 01, 2009.FORD ESCAPE 2007, manufactured by Ford Motor Company had a problem with UNKNOWN OR OTHER . original owner stated that after she had had the car about 18 months it had just stopped on her several times when she was on the highway with and without the warning light coming on first. the vehicle was checked out by a ford agency in virginia and they could not find a problem. apparently, it had happened several times again between 2010 and 2013, it was checked out by a pennsylvania ford dealership and again, they found nothing wrong. she stopped driving in 2013 the car was sold to a friend when it had about 127,000 miles on it. after using it for about 3000 miles and several months while on a highway going about 60mph the warning light to pull over at once came on. he did, turned the engine off ,waited 10 minutes and started it up again. he then proceeded another 20 miles or so and the same thing happened. the local ford dealership then said that the "motor electronics cooling pump" was defective and needed to be replaced. apparently, it is a common problem. my question is that if it is such a common problem, "why hasn't there been a recall?" this is potentially extremely dangerous! why should the customer have to pay over $800 to have a known defective part replaced? i feel that ford has been grossly negligent in not acting on this..Mileage was 25000 miles. my 95 ford exploere engine surges when turn my air conditioner on Ihave a 1994 ford probe which has started to idle very low and stalls at times. It is a 4 cyl. w/ air and a 5 speed. any ideas? I replaced the fuel filter, air flow meter and added HEAT to gas tank to dry and clean fuel system. I think my pcv valv should a standard transmission truck start when it is in gear without the clucth engaged? should a 2005 standard transmission ford ranger start when in gear without the clutch engaged? 96 Ford F250 Emergency brake lever gets caught on the auto adjustment spring, causing brakes to be permanently engaged, also allowing the parking break lever to rub against the hub, which can cut through over time. try pushing the pedals button closer to you. you must have the pedal adjustment button to the left of the radio, looks like a foot, that brings the pedals more inward towards the driver. hope it helped. or look carefully if a wire has corroded. it i would check ur multi switch on ur stearing colum on the pedal whats the sound Just bought an '06 E-350 van. Left d'ship got on highway and noticed shimmy when I got to 60....same problem???? that happened to me last night! If you rock the car back and for while shifting then it should release the safety lock! why does it take turning off the veh. while pulling in on the shifter arm, them starting it again while still holding it inwards ever so slightly??
