Dodge Grand Caravan 2007 Electrical System IgnitionDodge Grand Caravan 2007 Electrical System Ignition Review #10203123 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 2007 car safety problem was reported on June 19, 2007.DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 2007, manufactured by DAIMLERCHRYSLER CORPORATION had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION . we purchased an 07' dodge grand caravan june 07 and have had nothing but problems w/ it since shortly after the purchase. it has been in the shop twice for the same issue and is continuing to have the problem. when we had it in the last time we were told chrysler was working on the problem and would have something during the month of august ... well i phoned sept 11 12:15 pm and was told at that time they still had heard nothing in regards to the issue. it started out that the van would not shift into gear when coming to a stop ... feels like the transmission is going to drop out at times. it then moved to doing this while in motion as well ... the dealer assured us that nothing is going to happen it is a computer problem that chrysler is working on. there are other known customers w/ the same problem. when we had it in the shop the first time a dx was ran on the computer to reset everything ... didn't help at all. had it back in a week later for 9+days and at that time they dropped the transmission out and replaced the clutches and something else too. as soon as we drove it off the lot it was back to square one. my key has gotten stuck in the ignition once so far ... didn't take it in but did phone to let them know about the issue. that happened during the month of july .... now my back automatic doors will not open from the inside switch located near the doors, and my passenger side window was rolled down yesterday (09/15/07) and didn't want to go back up. i did finally get it up but scared to try and roll it down again. *jb.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):2D4GP44L27R. Dodge Grand Caravan 2007 Power Train Automatic Transmission Review #10208527 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 2007 car safety problem was reported on Oct 07, 2007.DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 2007, manufactured by DAIMLERCHRYSLER CORPORATION had a problem with POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION . this issue occurs every time i drive the vehicle. it is a chrysler financial lease vehicle, and current mileage is approximately 9,200 miles. the problem started occurring at approximately 250 miles. i am an engineer on automatic transmission systems. the purpose of this complaint is to provide nhtsa and the manufacturer with one more example of an issue that seems to be common with this particular transmission/vehicle. the dodge dealer has not been contacted and the vehicle has not been serviced. issue ? the vehicle exhibits an extremely harsh 2à1 downshift. it also exhibits a mildly harsh 1à2 upshift. i suspect solenoid and/or valve body debris is present causing delayed/harsh shifts. there is also a moderate amount of torque converter lock-up clutch slippage in third gear. the vehicle remains in third gear until approximately 40 mph. during third gear torque converter lock-up mode, engine speed fluctuations are visible on the tachometer. the engine speed changes are audible as well. i have been monitoring the automatic transmission fluid (atf) level and color. the level is correct and the fluid does not smell or appear burnt (fluid is red in color). *tr .Mileage was 250 miles. Dodge Grand Caravan 2007 Electrical SystemDodge Grand Caravan 2007 Electrical System Review #10356734 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 2007 car safety problem was reported on Sept 15, 2010.DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 2007, manufactured by Chrysler Group LLC had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM . on september 15, 2010 the rear passenger door to my 2007 dodge grand caravan caught fire 1 foot from my 2 year old daughter who was strapped in a 5 point harness car seat. i picked my son up from school at approximately 5:45, with my daughter in tow. i operated the rear passenger door to put her back into her seat after signing out my son with no issue. i noticed nothing wrong with the door. i drove approximately 1 mile to my house. halfway home i smelled something and when i pulled into the driveway, i saw smoke coming from an unknown source. i thought it was my air conditioning unit and by turning the car off i would solve the problem of the smoke. i tried to operate the automatic doors for my rear passenger doors but they didn't work. i was able to manually open my rear driver's side door but was not able to open the rear passenger door no matter how hard i pulled. i had no idea that door was on fire at that point. i noticed nothing wrong with the door other than it wouldn't open. i had to climb into the back through the other side to get my daughter. i went in to the house, still thinking that everything would stop smoking once the car cooled down and let my dog out in the back yard. i came back around to the front of the house after 5 minutes. i saw gray smoke billowing out of the rear drivers side door i had left open to air out the car. i walked around to the passenger's side and i saw the paint bubbling and melting and little flames licking the glass of the door. at that point i called the fire department and my neighbor took the hose to the car to put out the external fire. the fire department came in 5 minutes and put out the fire in the door. they gave me the burned piece and said they believed that the fire started in the motor for the automatic door. i called in a complaint to chrysler/dodge. my reference number is 19962230 with them. updated 10/05/10 *bf pictures received updated 10/07/10 updated 10/21/10*jb *tr.Vehicle was on fire. Dodge Grand Caravan 2007 Fuel/propulsion System Review #10638968 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 2007 car safety problem was reported on Jan 03, 2014.DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 2007, manufactured by Chrysler Group LLC had a problem with FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM . after fueling the vehicle, pulling out from the gas station, the van stalls violently: loses power, lurches & surges. this has become increasingly severe, most recently nearly causing a collision when the van stalled out as we were leaving the gas station in heavy traffic. the problem is the vapor/liquid separator valve located at the top of the fuel tank. the valve is designed to prevent liquid fuel from entering the charcoal canister/emissions system. when the valve fails, liquid gas can enter the line and fill the charcoal canister. after refueling the pcm on the vehicle detects a change in fuel level. then, when the engine meets certain temperature and driving criteria, the pcm issues a purge command to the charcoal canister to remove the stored gas vapors. it’s at that point that all the liquid gas in the line gets sucked into the charcoal canister. the pcm expects to see gas vapors entering the intake manifold and it is prepared to adjust air/fuel mixtures to compensate. however, it is not prepared to see liquid gas coming into the intake. that’s what causes the engine to stall. unfortunately, the only fix is to replace the entire gas tank. chrysler does not sell the vapor/liquid valve as a separate unit. we are now at nearly 100,000 miles, and the problem persists and continues to get more severe. i have called dodge, but they say there is no extended warranty on the fuel tank/evaporation canister..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 85000 miles. Dodge Grand Caravan 2007 Structure BodyDodge Grand Caravan 2007 Structure Body Review #10668258 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 2007 car safety problem was reported on June 01, 2012.DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 2007, manufactured by Chrysler Group LLC had a problem with STRUCTURE:BODY . 2007 dodge grand caravan sxt stow n go having several electrical issues. 1. passenger power sliding door failed, replaced power door motor, lock actuator, and repaired wiring as the wires actually break/snap overtime. poor design. 2. less than two years later passenger power sliding door has failed again, & power locks will not work, & i can open passenger sliding door after locking vehicle with key fob and alarm won't sound! cannot get my children in and out of this door without reaching in and pulling up the lever from inside (too stiff, my daughter isn't strong enough). this is a safety issue and researching it online shows that it is widespread. 3. power seat motor has failed. we have stow n go seating. in order to stow the 2nd row seat you must move front seat to full forward position, then move driver seat back......driver seat is all the way back now (for my spouse) and i cannot move it forward. gears are broken. i cannot reach the pedals and my seventh seat is stowed! i cannot get my seat back. 4. on passenger side a part below dashboard (i think is related to heating and cooling) fell off. my floor is now wet even after reattaching it. 5. light galore! my vehicle rotates between check engine, and service tire system warnings. i've had it checked by several mechanics and all say it's electrical..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 96000 miles. Dodge Grand Caravan 2007 Fuel/propulsion System Review #10677120 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 2007 car safety problem was reported on Nov 03, 2014.DODGE GRAND CARAVAN 2007, manufactured by Chrysler (FCA US LLC) had a problem with FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM . vehicle hesitated first time while going 50 mph after refueling - regular gas. checked the tach, went to almost zero, then back up again. rode rough for a while. stalled first time after refueling w/ regular gas, @ 35 mph, almost causing me to hit a curb - loss of power steering and brakes. restarted okay. stalled a 2nd time after refueling at red light, just 500 ft from gas station. took 2 times to start it. when we figured it was not a bad tank of gas, we had our local mechanic check it, and we paid over $200.00 for a crankshaft position sensor to be replaced. but we refueled the van soon after, and it stalled out again. that was when i decided to look online to see if anyone else has encountered the same problem. i was amazed at how many people had complained, and were told it’s not a known issue. it sounds to me like dodge/chrysler doesn’t want to accept responsibility for the problem. i checked online and found 40 complaints for the same issue here: http://en.allexperts.com/q/chrysler-repair-807/f/stalling-refueling.htm [dodge caravan and/or chrysler town & country stalling after refueling]. they all called dodge/chrysler and were told that it wasn’t a known issue. please follow through on this, and have dodge/chrysler rectify it before someone is killed. here is a page not by dodge that gives the solution: http://ricksfreeautorepairadvice.com/engine-stalls-after-filling-tank-chrysler-minivan/ the remedy is to pay over $700 for an entire tank, because chrysler doesn't sell the part alone, which is the vapor/liquid separator valve. please help! .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 45250 miles. I have a 2008 Dodge Nitro thats rear driver side light does not work. I have taken it to a mechanic that can't find out why it won't work and have spent 200.00 He thinks it might be in the wiring system . I have also seen other Dodge Nitro same ye Every time it rains heavily the passenger floor gets soaking wet. My car has never been in an accident or any body damage. It is a 2007 Nitro 4X4. Wasn't there a recall years ago for fixing the roof rack assembly? Has anyone else ever had this iss stereo is all static but the cd player works fine...antennae perhaps? I have the same problem. Dodge can't find the problem so they told me to take it. Next week I'm turning it in and go through the lemom law. Very frustrating when you buy the warrrant and they can't fix it. Garrrrrrrrr. Ihave a 95 Dodge Avenger and the 30 Amp starter/ignition fuse keeps blowing. As soon as you turn the key the instrument panel lights are dim and then the fuse blows. I have replaced the starter, cables, ignition switch, fusible link and battery an 2004 Dodge 2500 Ram Truck, Laramie trim package...horn goes off with no one around it - truck is off and parked in the driveway, keys were not touched. power windows won't work pushing window buttons causes the water in fuel lite to come on along with the brake indicator lite and wait to start lite also turning on the a/c heater causes the same thing soon as you release the switches lites go out 2001 Dodge 5.9 cummins going down the road it sputtered 3 times & shut off and will not restart I purchased a new Dodge Grand Caravan from Bankston Dodge of Grand Prairie, Texas in May of 2008. Less than 8 months after that (around 12,000 miles) my front brakes went completely out with no indication whatsoever of any problems (The device tha 1995 DODGE NEON 1.6l Feels like it is slipping while driving. with brake pedal depressed car surges, Probably not the door seals. You may have to unstop the two drains that can get filled with debris. The two drains are located in the trough under the grill work that is under the wiper blades. You will need to remove the wiper arms, then remove a '06 dakota - unable to put fuel in gas tank
