DODGE DURANGO 2012 car safety problem was reported on Jan 27, 2014.DODGE DURANGO 2012, manufactured by Chrysler Group LLC had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES . driving in freezing weather at approximately 35-40 mph. i went to brake, & brakes felt hard, pedal would not depress completely, & coming to s stop was difficult & took more time than usual. took car to auto shop nearby & they diagnosed with failed brake booster. had car towed to chrysler dealer as it was dangerous to drive due to the loss of brake power, in which it remained there for 3 weeks due to booster part "being on back order". since this booster was on back order, i asked chrysler if this has been a common problem with durangos & was told no. they told me that since my vehicle was over the warranty in mileage (approx 40,000), the repair was not covered, however, they gave me discount. i've read the reports & letters issued relating to this recall in which they stated there is "no loss in braking" however, this was untrue in my case. had i been driving on highway when this occurred, i would have been in trouble with braking, as there was a definite decrease in braking by approximately 50%. i called chrysler regarding reimbursement for this recall, & chrysler will not issue a refund on what i paid to have brake booster replaced at this time, stating to me that "this recall doesn't affect my vehicle", when in fact, this recall should have occurred sooner than now to keep me safe. i have read in the reports that this issue was identified last year. i consider myself lucky to not have been driving at a high speed when this occurred. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 40000 miles. DODGE DURANGO 2012 car safety problem was reported on May 09, 2014.DODGE DURANGO 2012, manufactured by Chrysler Group LLC had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM . our 2012 dodge durango r/t was purchased brand new as a replacement for lemon law buy back of our 2009 dodge journey. the durango is plagued with design flaws. the most obvious is the tipm total integrated module. the failure of this module resulting in our vehicle catching fire. the vehicle cranks but does not start at times, other times when it starts it dies in the street. while taking it to the dealership for repairs they would not repair it and another dealer denied the repairs. the only loaner i was placed in was a brand new durango with the plastic still covering the seats, floor etc. the brand new loaner also contained a faulty tipm. we didn't even have the loaner a day because the lights were bright lighting everyone, alarm was going off driving down the road, radio was crackling, the instrument panel was flashing. our durango contains all of these issues; left and right rear tail light assemblies are dead, both front struts are blown leaking, spraying fluid under the vehicle onto the frame and brake(s), line(s), transmissions is leaking, high engine oil consumption. our durango is still under factory warranty, plus a platinum extended warranty. while our vehicle is covered under an extended warranty they will not pay for a rental car because the tipm is national backordered part. please.... you have to recall this vehicle before others are injured or killed! *tr.Vehicle was on fire. 2 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 800 miles. DODGE DURANGO 2012 car safety problem was reported on Oct 07, 2014.DODGE DURANGO 2012, manufactured by Chrysler Group LLC had a problem with AIR BAGS . on oct 7, 2014, my brother was coming home from work. it was raining that evening and a deer jumped out infront of him. natural reaction, he swerved to miss the deer. the vehicle slid on the wet roads when he swerved, causing him to go head on into a stone "mountainside" wall. he was doing approximatly 60mph upon impact. not one of the 9 airbags deployed. the accident was so bad, it caused the floorboard where the gas and brake are to "buckle", the axle was completely ripped out, and the drivers wheel was completely ripped off, yet not one of the 9 airbags deployed. my brother ended up with cuts on his head and face, he had a severe concussion and there is a "lump" on the back of his neck that the hospital isnt sure if it is a bone that is "out of place" or just a lump that formed from being hit. he is not permitted to work for a few weeks. he was slurring words and not properly talking for 4 days after the accident. the hospital said it was from how hard he hit his head. everyone who has seen the vehicle, including insurance adjustor said it is a wonder he wasnt killed, especially since the airbags never deployed. yet, a friend of ours accidently "tapped" a guardpost while parking and all his airbags in his durango deployed. i guess you have to be going slow for durango airbags to deploy?? how can they deploy in one that barely taps a parking post, but a 60mph crash, not one deploys?.Vehicle was involved in a crash. 1 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Dodge Durango 2012 problem was reported in CHARLEROI, PA. DODGE DURANGO 2012 car safety problem was reported on Sept 18, 2014.DODGE DURANGO 2012, manufactured by Chrysler Group LLC had a problem with ENGINE . i went outside to start my car and it would not start it would just keep turning over but never crank eventually stopping. i then would attempt to start it again and the car would try to turn over then crank shake very badly then shut off. on the third attempt it would finally start and stay running. while running or idling engine would run rough vibrating/shaking. this happened multiple times throughout 2' weeks. i could remote start it without any problem but when it came to push to start it always had a problem. i called to set up a service appointment and it was two weeks later when i finally had an appointment. when it was finally time for the appointment the car had not did this in 3-4 days. hasn't done it since. service department could not determine what it was. nothing was done. 4 days after the appointment and having 2 recalls fixed ( one of which was brake booster that they had me holding on for 3 months only did they fix it when i took my car in for the water pump,and pulley. i was told the same only 2-3 parts were coming in each month. if there is a recall get it fixed in a timely fashion not on your own time see are peoples lives!)and some computer systems reprogrammed and water pump and idler pulley were replaced the cel came on it was the weekend and service department was closed. we took it to the local auto parts store to have it diagnosed the code had something to do with the fuel system. a day later before the service department had reopened the light went off and has not came back on since. i see others with similar problems and see that there is an open investigation on this. please issue a recall so this can be fixed on all cars affected before someone is hurt. we spend all this money on cars that are supposed to be safe then please make them safe or fix the wrongs so nothing will happen..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 32000 miles. DODGE DURANGO 2012 car safety problem was reported on Nov 04, 2014.DODGE DURANGO 2012, manufactured by Chrysler (FCA US LLC) had a problem with FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM . i initially brought my vehicle to be serviced on 11/4/14 for failure to start & stalling while in park or reverse. i talked with an attendant who said they had no idea what the problem was & it would be $300+ to investigate, i opted for a lower cost option, a replacement start button ($20). i suspect now, since they were busy & i was inquiring about other recall fixes (cost to them) this was a way to get me out of the shop quickly. skip forward a few weeks, the problem persisted. from 12/2/14-1/9/14, i left multiple messages for service to schedule an appt. my messages were never returned. the problem got progressively worse, & by christmas the car failed to start all together. to continue with our family plans for vacation, we had to rent a car ($480); there were also a few days just after the new year where a rental was required so we could function ($280). i finally resorted to simply having the car towed ($100) to the dealership for repairs on 1/10/14 in hopes i could finally get a return call. it still took 2 more days (1/12/15) before someone responded. this time, i was quoted a price of only $114 to determine the problem. i spoke to the service lead on 1/14/15 who gave a diagnosis of tipm and starter replacement, plus 3 hrs labor cost (approx $1550). i mentioned the recall on the tipm, but was informed that my vehicle produced in nov 2011 fell just outside the jul 2011 window. i pointed out it was clearly the same issue, but was advised my best route was to deal with corporate. i contacted the corporate office on 1/15/15 with no success at getting chrysler to do the right thing for their longtime, repeat customer (this is my 5th and last chrysler). after 2+ grueling mths & nearly $2500 later, i finally have a car that starts on the first attempt...hopefully (no guarantees, right). i have yet to hear back from a supervisor at corporate. .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 52000 miles.
