Dodge Dakota 1994 Service Brakes, Hydraulic Power AssistDodge Dakota 1994 Service Brakes, Hydraulic Power Assist Review #10120936 DODGE DAKOTA 1994 car safety problem was reported on May 14, 2005.DODGE DAKOTA 1994, manufactured by DAIMLERCHRYSLER CORPORATION had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST . sudden near-complete brake failure due to defective bolt holding master cylinder in place to hydraulic brake booster pressure accumulator. on 05-14-2005, my 18 year old son completed his shift at work. he went out to our 1994 dodge dakota pickup and started the engine. as he depressed the brake pedal he heard a metallic noise as if something had broken. he drove to our nearby residence at very low speed. there was no collision, but he reported significantly reduced brake performance. at our residence, my mechanic and i inspected the vehicle. i am a 21-year experienced police collision investigator. we found that the left (driver side) bolt holding the master brake cylinder to the hydraulic brake booster pressure accumulator (aka: hydroboost) had broken off. the bolt appears to be a low grade stud that is pressed into the forward cover of the hydroboost unit. the bolt / stud is of small diameter for such a critical component. it appeared to be over-tightened at the factory (most likely), or wore out due to metal fatigue (less likely as the vehicle only has approximately 51,000 miles on it). there is a second bolt holding the master cylinder to the hydroboost. the second bolt held in place, allowing reduced braking ability. the master cylinder was falling down and to the right at about a 35 degree angle. had this defect occurred at highway speeds, or when pulling a load, a catastrophic collision would have likely occurred. the two bolts appear to be too small in diameter for any vehicle, particularly a light pickup truck. although this vehicle is a 1994 model year, it is still in excellent condition. i live in a semi-arid area, so there is no rust. the vehicle has also never been in a collision and is parked in a garage when not in use. i purchased the vehicle new and have been the only owner. the vehicle has been otherwise extremely reliable. .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 51000 miles. I have a 2008 Dodge Nitro thats rear driver side light does not work. I have taken it to a mechanic that can't find out why it won't work and have spent 200.00 He thinks it might be in the wiring system . I have also seen other Dodge Nitro same ye Every time it rains heavily the passenger floor gets soaking wet. My car has never been in an accident or any body damage. It is a 2007 Nitro 4X4. Wasn't there a recall years ago for fixing the roof rack assembly? Has anyone else ever had this iss stereo is all static but the cd player works fine...antennae perhaps? I have the same problem. Dodge can't find the problem so they told me to take it. Next week I'm turning it in and go through the lemom law. Very frustrating when you buy the warrrant and they can't fix it. Garrrrrrrrr. Ihave a 95 Dodge Avenger and the 30 Amp starter/ignition fuse keeps blowing. As soon as you turn the key the instrument panel lights are dim and then the fuse blows. I have replaced the starter, cables, ignition switch, fusible link and battery an 2004 Dodge 2500 Ram Truck, Laramie trim package...horn goes off with no one around it - truck is off and parked in the driveway, keys were not touched. power windows won't work pushing window buttons causes the water in fuel lite to come on along with the brake indicator lite and wait to start lite also turning on the a/c heater causes the same thing soon as you release the switches lites go out 2001 Dodge 5.9 cummins going down the road it sputtered 3 times & shut off and will not restart I purchased a new Dodge Grand Caravan from Bankston Dodge of Grand Prairie, Texas in May of 2008. Less than 8 months after that (around 12,000 miles) my front brakes went completely out with no indication whatsoever of any problems (The device tha 1995 DODGE NEON 1.6l Feels like it is slipping while driving. with brake pedal depressed car surges, Probably not the door seals. You may have to unstop the two drains that can get filled with debris. The two drains are located in the trough under the grill work that is under the wiper blades. You will need to remove the wiper arms, then remove a '06 dakota - unable to put fuel in gas tank
