DODGE CHARGER AWD 2007 car safety problem was reported on June 20, 2012.DODGE CHARGER AWD 2007, manufactured by CHRYSLER GROUP LLC had a problem with ENGINE . 07 r/t charger going home travelling 20 miles an hour on country road i hear a warning light go on. the temperature guage light is on and its past red. the engine light and throttle control valve also go on. i am about 1 mile from my house so i drive around 5 mph to get to the house. 50 yards away the temperature needle goes all the way to cold. i started to think its electrical. i pull in my driveway and check fluids. all are fine. husband takes his car and goes and buys a thermostat thinking thats it, it wasn't. we noticed antifreeze at that point leaking. when looking for leak he noticed that the fan assembly blade was shattered on one side and that it had dug into the radiator. so again he goes back to the store to purchase a fan assembly and installs it. it starts fine, takes it for a 30 mile test drive and on the way home it stalls in the middle of the road. he finally gets it home, tries to start it again and now its making a grinding noise. he cuts engine off, checks for other problems, tries to start again but this time its a loud knocking. we call tow truck, tow it to dealership and am told that it needs new engine and the cost is $8000 and said manufacturer warranty doesn't cover it even tough to me it seems like a default in manufacturing. after researching furthur i noticed there are a lot of complaints for both problems, the fan assembly and the engine blowing a main seal. just way too coincidental they happened back to back. will someone please help me and others with these problems and dodge not taking responsibility. god forbid if it would have stalled on me while i was on the highway. now i have no car, i cant get to work, i am in the national guard and can't make it to drill this weekend, if something isn't done soon i will lose everything if i can't make it to work. i live way out in the country so impossible to catch a bus ride. please help!!!!!! *tt.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 97000 miles.
