CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY 2009 car safety problem was reported on July 21, 2010.CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY 2009, manufactured by BRAUN CORPORATION had a problem with EQUIPMENT . 7/21/2010- brought 2009 chrysler town and country in to dealer for a/c recall and front end shimmy while braking. due to warping on all four rotors, dealer replaces at no charge, thankfully, rear rotors, but only resurfaces front rotors. are the new rear rotors any different than the defective rotors they just replaced? why even bother resurfacing defective front rotors? dealer then reinstalls existing front and rear pads. called chrysler and based on our vin # , chrysler has not acknowledged any rotor defects with our van. 7700 miles, all four rotors warped, same front rotors resurfaced then put back on the van with old pads all around. no recall, no service bulletin, no acknowledgement from chrysler about any problem, but warped rotors at 7700 miles something is really wrong here. now the original defective front rotors that have been cut are on the van, waiting to warp again. family member with an earlier model 2009 t & c has received from chrysler a 'warranty extension' on front rotors and pads, but not the rear rotor or pads. chrysler needs to admit bad brakes all around on these vans , and replace the defective front and rear rotors with rotors and pads of higher quality. or is the issue an improperly designed brake system for these model and year vans ? *tr.Mileage was 7700 miles. CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY 2009 car safety problem was reported on May 22, 2010.CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY 2009, manufactured by BRAUN CORPORATION had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC . we had to replace rotors on our 2009 town and country van at 15,000 miles. we started to experience shaking in the front end when braking on the highway at less than 10,000 miles. at that point we were told that brake pads, etc were within normal limits. finally at 15,000 we were told that the rotors needed to be replaced. chrysler is offering to extend the 12 month, 12,000 mile warranty on the rotors with a $50 or $100 deductible. this appears to be a defective brake rotor and not a warranty issue as chrysler is stating. worse yet is that dealers are replacing the rotors with the exact same rotor! i was told by a chrysler representatives that this is an item that is expected to experience normal wear and tear and, therefore, subject to limited warranties. in fact the letter that i received about the extended warranty for these rotors stated that "the brake performance is not affected in any way by this issue." i disagree with this statement and consider it a safety recall matter that is being mishandled to chrysler's advantage and the customer's disadvantage. *tr.Mileage was 15000 miles. CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY 2009 car safety problem was reported on July 23, 2010.CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY 2009, manufactured by BRAUN CORPORATION had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM . 2009 chrysler town and country. no specific event leading up to failure. the first time i had been driving for only a few minutes and was in a parking lot intersection when the car stopped. the second time i had just gotten off of a major highway and was on a busy in town road at rush hour going 30-40mph. both times, without warning the van just shut down. i had no acceleration, no breaks and minimal steering for a few seconds. after the car shut down, i was able to restart it after a minute with no other problems. the second time that it broke down i do recall that all of the dash lights went on a second or two before i lost steering. it has occurred twice in the last 4-6 weeks. it was not raining or wet either time. i brought the van in to chrysler after the second failure. however, because they could not replicate it losing all power, they did nothing to fix it. a different problem with the electrical part of the windshield wipers (separate problem) was fixed. i am terrified to drive for fear i will not be able to pull of the road in fast traffic next time. with four children, i am terrified to be on a highway or busy road.. *tr.Mileage was 19700 miles. CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY 2009 car safety problem was reported on Oct 19, 2010.CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY 2009, manufactured by BRAUN CORPORATION had a problem with LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES . after parking and locking the vehicle, when i come back to it sometimes the side doors or rear door are open. this has happened more than once in a parking garage at work, in my garage at home, and when the vehicle is parked on the street. on one occasion, the driver's side sliding door was found open by police in the parking lot of a hotel where i was staying. on two occasions i've found the vehicle's engine running when it was parked inside my closed garage at home. the doors can be opened remotely or the engine started remotely with two successive presses on the appropriate button on the key fob, but i often come back to the van and find these doors open when i have been too far away from the vehicle to activate it with the key fob. because it takes two successive presses within seconds on a single button to open a door with the key fob, the key fob is not likely the problem. i would like this fixed, but in the interim, i want to disable the ability to open the doors or start the engine remotely until such time as a fix can be found. *tr.Mileage was 3111 miles.
