Chevrolet Cruze 2013 Power Train Review #10509875 CHEVROLET CRUZE 2013 car safety problem was reported on Apr 27, 2013.CHEVROLET CRUZE 2013, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with POWER TRAIN . on april 27, 2013, while attempting to park my car i put the car in reverse gear and all of a sudden the car jerked in the reverse so hard that if a car was directed behind me parked i would have hit it and damaged both cars. then, the car jerked forward when i switch gears to drive forward and then the car started making a loud clicking sound. then before that! i had a problem on 4/19/2013 trying to reverse into another parking area and the car did pretty much the same things as it did on april 27th. also, sometimes when i press on my brakes, coming to a full stop, the car will lounge forward while pressing on brake. this is very dangerous occurrences. i have not contact the dealer as of yet. but, i intend too asap. i have also checked for any recalls, and there are none yet as of 2013, but there are a couple of complaints only. 2012 cruze had several airbag, and engine issues. please advise! thank you *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 901 miles. Chevrolet Cruze 2013 Service BrakesChevrolet Cruze 2013 Service Brakes Review #10513848 CHEVROLET CRUZE 2013 car safety problem was reported on Mar 01, 2013.CHEVROLET CRUZE 2013, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES . i have several incidents that have had occurred in a brand new 2013 chevy cruze with 7000 when the first incident occurred.. 1) the brake pedal travels too far before the brakes engage. 2) i was backing out of my driveway and had no brakes. i pushed the pedal to the floor and the breaks didnâ??t respond. the car kept rolling. i feel that this is an extremely serious safety issue. i took it to the service department 3 times for them to fix it. i had to use a loan car for 5 days, and when i brought it seemed like they wouldn't believed what i was saying. apparently the problems was fixed, but a month and a half after 3) at various speeds, a loud squeaking noise was emitted from the vehicle when engaging the brake pedal. the technician duplicated the problem; however, he was unable to provide a remedy repair. the manufacturer was notified of the defect and hasn't solved the issue. after 6 days of having a loan car the problem was not solve. neither the managers or chevrolet the company have help me solving the problem. i think chevrolet is hiding the fact there is an issue. i see a lot of other people complain about the brakes on cruzetalk.com. i am student and full time worker and travel in parkways all the time and i donâ??t fell safe driving the car anymore. after bringing my car back 4 times already and leaving it there for few days i asked the dealer and the company to give me my money back on the car. it seems like if they don't want to deal with the problem and don't care about customers safety. please help me! *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 7000 miles. Chevrolet Cruze 2013 EngineChevrolet Cruze 2013 Engine Review #10523701 CHEVROLET CRUZE 2013 car safety problem was reported on May 01, 2013.CHEVROLET CRUZE 2013, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with ENGINE . i had the vehicle serviced for oil change and tire rotation on may 25. a few days later, approximately june 1, i noticed the vehicle was very hard to stop when backing out of my driveway (had to push down very hard on the brakes which did not seem to go to the floor). i also noticed that while i was stopped at red lights or behind other vehicles the car would lunge forward--not enough to hit someone because i noticed it as soon as it happened. about two weeks later i took the car to the dealership, jeff wyler chevrolet eastgate, and advised them of the problem. someone test drove the car with me in the passenger seat, and he informed me that he could find nothing wrong with the car. i do not know if he checked anything else while i was in the waiting room. at my request, he provided me with a printout documenting the visit. on july 7, 2013, while my daughter was pulling the vehicle into our garage, the brakes failed and she hit my granddaughter bicycle which, in turn, went through the drywall at the end of the garage. i have four children living at the house including an 8 and 10 year old. there is also a sign on our street indicating a deaf child lives on the street (we have only lived there since nov. 2012). we are very fortunate that a child has not been injured. there is no way to alert the deaf child that the car is coming their way since they cannot hear the horn. *tr.Vehicle was involved in a crash. 0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 7000 miles. Chevrolet Cruze 2013 Electrical SystemChevrolet Cruze 2013 Electrical System Review #10554773 CHEVROLET CRUZE 2013 car safety problem was reported on Dec 03, 2013.CHEVROLET CRUZE 2013, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM . after changing oil filter, oil sprayed in engine compartment approximately 10 minutes into drive, causing a fire in the engine compartment. all occupants were safe, but the damage is expensive. wiring harnesses, as well as master cylinder were melted. the top mounted filter is a pleated cartridge that snaps into a threaded plastic oil filter cap. a blue o-ring, included with the filter, slips over the plastic oil filter cap, past the threads. the issue seems to that two "grooves" exist after the threads towards the end by the flange. if the o-ring is placed in the wrong location (i.e. all the way to the end) this provides an inadequate seal, posing a fire hazard as described above. correct procedure is to apply the blue o-ring on the second to last groove immediately after the threads. basically, if after tightening the oil filter assembly the blue o-ring is visible, it's in the wrong location. source: local dealer. this is not related to the plastic shield modification advised in a previous service bulletin from gm regarding the 2011-12 model years. *tr.Vehicle was on fire. 0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 5494 miles. Chevrolet Cruze 2013 Steering Review #10576623 CHEVROLET CRUZE 2013 car safety problem was reported on Oct 01, 2013.CHEVROLET CRUZE 2013, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with STEERING . the steering wheel/rack has known issues already documented by the nhtsa. when driving, especially at speeds > 50mph, the steering wheel will "lock up" or feel "notchy" without constant driver input. when performing interstate driving you will experience the steering constantly feeling like its locking up until excessive force is used to move the steering wheel (more then a few fingers worth of strength). definitely unnatural and definitely an issue for a brand new car. started since 5k miles, vehicle has apprxoimately 15k miles now and the issue is getting progressively worse. documented online is that the steering rack has a design flaw which allows air inside the steering rack, causing the steering wheel to feel notchy or like it is locking up. being that the issue is getting worse, i expect there to be a major failure at some point and wanted this documented. online on chevrolet cruze forums there are hundreds of issues similar to my own and i believe a tsb in chevrolet's database. i am going to attempt to bring the issue to light at the local chevrolet dealership now that i have the time to actually deal with this situation (due to military/government work conflicts). i purchased a full premium warranty with the vehicle when i bought it that covers everything for 100k miles/7 years, so there should be no issues with this request of fixing/replacing the issue..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 5000 miles. Chevrolet Cruze 2013 Engine And Engine CoolingChevrolet Cruze 2013 Engine And Engine Cooling Review #10577508 CHEVROLET CRUZE 2013 car safety problem was reported on June 03, 2013.CHEVROLET CRUZE 2013, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING . 2013 chevy cruze 1lt with the 1.4 turbo engine. i have actually owned two of these cars, the first was a 2011. the complaint is about both and i suspect is the same in every one of these cars that have the 1.4 turbo. my complaint is about a possible health hazard with these vehicles. they emit antifreeze fumes constantly and gm is now claiming that this is normal and they will not fix it. shortly after i purchased the 2011 model i began to notice the smell of hot antifreeze every time i would drive the vehicle, i took it in for service several times and they done everything possible to fix it with no luck. finally after about two years of dealing with this i got tired of it and traded it off for a 2013 same model. i know that sounds stupid and was but my reasoning was that i loved the car and thought that surely gm had corrected this issue by now(i was very wrong). shortly after my purchase of the 2013 i began to smell the antifreeze again and again began the process with gm to get it fixed but as before, no luck. finally after fighting with it for several months gm has called me back and said that the smell is normal operation for this vehicle. according to them the water pump is designed to leak a small amount and the leakage is caught in a retention chamber built into the water pump them evaporated out via the heat of the engine causing the constant smell. this is ridiculous! i strongly believe that sniffing these hot antifreeze fumes all the time can't be good for you and will in the long term cause health issues. with this answer i ask gm to take the car back or at least let me trade it for another model but they are unwilling to help me any more. i know that this problem is wide spread, not just with my vehicle. if you go to cruzetalk.com and research this you will find hundreds of other people with the same complaint. thank you for looking into this for us. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 15000 miles. Chevrolet Cruze 2013 Unknown Or OtherChevrolet Cruze 2013 Unknown Or Other Review #10652703 CHEVROLET CRUZE 2013 car safety problem was reported on Nov 15, 2013.CHEVROLET CRUZE 2013, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with UNKNOWN OR OTHER . i purchased my vehicle in sep 2013, approx nov 2013 i began having a horrible strong odor coming from my vehicle. we searched to see if an animal was in it. i thought maybe it was my son's feet & made him change socks. it got worse & was really strong when defrost, heat & vent were on. i took it in to the dealership & they looked at it, of course that day they couldn't get the smell to occur although it did on the way there. i went a couple more weeks & it got worse. finally, i took the car in for oil maintenance & advised again that the smell was horrible. the service manager at the time said it was a common chevrolet problem. there is a ledge under the hood, under the window & condensation from defrost or rain, etc. sits & doesn't drain causing the water to mildew & become stagnant. he told me to leave the car running with my vent on high (& not sit in the car), spray lysol and let it run for about 5 min, it kills the bacteria. i had to do this every night for almost 3 weeks during the cold winter months. i took it back & told them it was ridiculous i wasn't going to continue doing this for the life of the vehicle. when i took it back someone else was there & sd the dealership had rec'd notice that there was a part that could be put on it, so they sent me on my way waiting for a loaner vehicle then they would fix it. they finally "put the part on" i was advised by another dealer it wasn't a part they just had to flip a switch the part was on the vehicle. the next day i got in my car & blowers were running. i called & was advised that was what the part did, so now the smell was like rotten maple syrup. during the dry summer months the smell was not there, but now that fall/winter is coming the smell is back & i have a call in to get this and other major issued fixed again. this can't be healthy especially for my boys who have severe allergies to mold. .0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 600 miles. Chevrolet Cruze 2013 Power Train Review #10671428 CHEVROLET CRUZE 2013 car safety problem was reported on Jan 09, 2015.CHEVROLET CRUZE 2013, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with POWER TRAIN . i bought my 2013 cruze in june 2014, with around 40k miles on it. in september the car began having issues. at first it was just that the radio and all dash lights would shut off. then i had multiple service lights that would flash randomly. those included stabilitrak, traction control, power steering and security system. at one point, while driving in a parking lot, my power steering completely locked up. my car eventually stopped starting. i was stranded at school and had to call a tow truck. when this happened, my key actually got stuck in the ignition. i was able to jump the car after several minutes of trying, but it would not keep power. i had it towed to the dealership, but they were not able to find anything wrong with it (no codes even came up on the computer) and it ran just fine for them. i drove the car home, and the next day had the same problem. this time after about 30 minutes of trying to get the car to start, it did, so i drove it straight to a chevy shop. again, they couldn't find any codes, but said they replaced some wiring and cleared the computer. i didnt have anymore problems until last week, when it all started happening again. i've had the power steering lock up on me in the middle of an intersection! the weird thing is, when my car doesnt want to start, all i have to do is use the little electrical knob that moves the drivers side seat back and forth, and everything fires up. gm needs to figure this out because it's bound to kill someone!.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 46000 miles. my 91 silverado will shift into gear on start up but after the trans warms up i have no gears at all My 89 Blazer suddenly accelerates, and I have to ride the brakes to keep it from "jumping" foward. This is causing my brakes to really squeal, and the mechanic is telling me that he cannot find the cause. I have actually put the car in drive, and Transmission shifts after i reach 3000-4000rpms and let off the gas 97 blazer Transmission shifts after i reach 3000-4000rpms and let off the gas my power steering pump is leaking. How do I know if I need a new powersteering pump in my 2003 tahoe, will the fuel light work even if the gas gauge is broken? Anyone hear of a recall on the frame of a Chevy trail blazer. 2003 I recently installed an after market cd  player in my 2004 Chevy Venture.  Since then the passenger side sliding door won't automatically open by using the switch or by pulling the handle.  bright lights will not come on. My 97 chevy van 1500 express 5.0 fuel gage just up and stopped working and suggestions? Engine Control system wen't from smooth  to erratically stumbling to find it's set idle, I could also hear the twin TBI injector's pumping too much fuel into engine,  drove it to the local store, was still running rough, trying to stall, it fi I have a 2009 obalt and have some questions that may help solve some problems that I have.
