CHEVROLET CAMARO 2011 car safety problem was reported on Dec 15, 2010.CHEVROLET CAMARO 2011, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS LLC had a problem with TIRES . the tires on my 2011 chevy camaro (and other models) are perelli p-zero tires which are "summer" tires as indicated by the manufacturers. these tires are not recommended for near freezing temps. the auto manufacturer failed to inform me the tires (which are stock) are only recommended for warm weather. i believe the manufacturer has not informed most customers of the situation. my research indicates these tires exhibit more problems with handling in cold temps as tire wear increases. the manufacturer of the auto has indicated to me that their engineers are confident these tires are safe, but the tire manufacturer continues to recommend against using these tires in near freezing temps. as most of the continental usa is exposed to near freezing and below freezing temps, i am concerned these tires will result in crashes which could be avoided if the auto manufacturer provided proper tires for our climate. this is a problem which may go unnoticed as most accidents go un-investigated or an investigator will not consider the temps were near or below freezing at the time of the accident. *tr.Mileage was 2700 miles. CHEVROLET CAMARO 2011 car safety problem was reported on Mar 26, 2010.CHEVROLET CAMARO 2011, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS LLC had a problem with SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC . 1.convertible in the shop over 45 days. 2.cables from top showing on driver and passenger side above windows. 3.cable prohibits opening passenger door/makes opening driver door tough. 4.exhaust rattles incessantly. 5. had 2 broken bows on top at 1st. 6. original top had a hole in it. 7. new top and 2 bows replaced. new top had wear marks in various places ? when we got it back, and getting more thread bare each day. marks were on it the day we got it back. 8. other convertible owners state their wear went through all the way to the rivets. other owners calling us from different parts of us to compare notes, same issues, same results with gm. concerned top may fly off. 9. rubber parts from top falling off/will not stay on. 10. cannot put tonneau cover on or keep it on over 50 mph. it flies off & hits cars behind us.11. windshield cracked when top closed w motor drive. 12. wind noise in it was less than our past new camaros. now noise level with the top up is noisy enough to have to yell when on speakerphone. at 1st, it was very quiet. 13. large gaps on the side of the top where it meets the body when it is up ? you could place your arm into the holes. dealer fixed 2 times. 14. spent over 2.5g lettering the car for our business, decal-deleted, detail company waxing, tinted windshield and windows. gm corporate says they will place us in a new hard top camaro, but will not pay ttl, re-waxing, re-lettering car, decal deleting or tinting. ok law states that ttl is indeed covered. 15. this is not a dealer issue, this is a gm issue. 16. dealers cannot fix the top in a manner that gm has not put a service bulletin out on. we do not want to bring it back in until they have said bulletin. 17. we do not feel as though long gm fans should be out thousands of dollars for re-lettering, customization and ttl for getting a vehicle that they still claim that they do not know how to fix. *tr.Vehicle Identification Number (VIN):2G1FK3DJ4B9. CHEVROLET CAMARO 2011 car safety problem was reported on Jan 01, 2013.CHEVROLET CAMARO 2011, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with ENGINE . having issues with car maintaining oil levels. 1st instance did oil consumption then found it was leaking from engine seal, replaced that then another oil consumption @ 1000 miles later to find out it was leaking from some sort of plug, replaced that, another oil consumption test @ 2000 miles to only find out it was low on oil again, gm told the dealer to do a top engine cleaner on it. then gm replaced the whole engine cover assembly and seals and informed me that you couldn't use dextose full synthetic because the seals and rings wouldn't sit right and that oil was made for corvettes and cadillac , three days later check engine light came on. went back to the dealer they just cleared the code and told me to drive it. not even 1/2 way home noticed the car wouldn't accelerate, called dealer and took it back, finding out the catalytic converter was bad needed to be replaced. replaced that. it's only been 2000 and now the oil level is on the end of the dip stick. when speaking to the service manager he said not to go by the oil % life on the car as it wasn't accurate. to change at 5000 miles. but being at the end of the dip stick the math isn't adding up. car at the dealer now and got a call everything is in spec per gm and it's burning 1 qt per 2000 miles, nothings wrong. clearly you can see oil residue on the alternator and brand new engine cover they just put on. *jb.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 30000 miles. CHEVROLET CAMARO 2011 car safety problem was reported on Mar 01, 2012.CHEVROLET CAMARO 2011, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with AIR BAGS . my air bag light has been on for 2 years now. i have took my car to the dealership 7 times to get this problem fixed. my vehicle was under warranty when i took it in so i didn't have to pay any money for the services. out of all seven times they never fixed the air bag. now i brought it in again and they are charging me $109 for services to fix my airbag. the air bag light has been on for 2 years, meaning if i get into a wreck my airbag won't work. every time my car was released from the service department my air bag light immediately came back on after the passenger seat was adjusted. i suppose all they did was wiggle the wire under the passenger seat to get the air bag light to go off in order to return my car to me knowing that it wasn't fixed. now they are charging me money to get the air bag fixed when it's not my fault the airbag doesn't work. i believe the manufacturer should be at fault for this problem. in addition, while my car was in the dealership services department they provided me with a rental from enterprise. but they used my insurance company instead of paying $17 a day for enterprise's insurance company. i believe this is wrong because it is the manufacturer's fault that my air bag system doesn't work properly and they should pay for enterprise's insurance on the rental car i was provided with. the trunk of my car also is broke and they are charging me $182 in order to get it fixed but i have full coverage warranty on my vehicle. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Chevrolet Camaro 2011 problem was reported in PLAQUEMINE, LA. CHEVROLET CAMARO 2011 car safety problem was reported on Oct 01, 2014.CHEVROLET CAMARO 2011, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with ELECTRICAL SYSTEM . brought my camaro to dealership for recall 14294, ignition key problem. the solution of removing the blade from the "flip" key and adding a separate key creates a worse problem. one, it weighs more defeating the recall concern and two hangs lower increasing the probability of hitting your knee, again defeating the reason for the recall and adding a potential medical concern. and we would be receiving an inferior design to what i bought. i told them to change it back because of the above flaws. since they still sell the cars with the "flip" key, why cant they just replace the keys complete and not just band aid the problem. i broke the blade of the "flip" key on my 2011 equinox and couldn't just replace the blade....a new key had to be ordered and both keys reprogrammed at the cost of $140. bottom line is they should replace defective material with something equal or better. as consumers we should not be penalized for their design mistake....especially twice!.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 20000 miles. CHEVROLET CAMARO 2011 car safety problem was reported on Aug 18, 2011.CHEVROLET CAMARO 2011, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with AIR BAGS . the passenger side air bag works about 50% of the time with an adult passenger in the seat. my wife is normal sized, about 5'6" and 160 lbs. the passenger air bag light will also intermittently show on and then off while driving with a passenger, even when the passenger is making no movements. it was been replicated at the dealer, with more than one passenger, including an employee of the dealership. it was also replicated while connected to an odbc2. after four trips to the dealer, they now declare it is "operating as designed" and there will be no more attempted repairs. the vehicle is now out of warranty and still exhibits the issue. i have found several similar complaints on a chevy forum here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122468 they all mimic my issue. one consumer had the car replaced under the lemon law. i took my case to bbb arbitration and lost on a technicality. i was told i did not give the dealer enough opportunities to repair the car. however, each time i took it in after the fourth attempt, they refused to repair the car and stated it was "operating as designed". after the arbitration meeting, a chevy employee present at the meeting offered a seat replacement in the form of a written letter. later, i took him up on his offer, but they had rescinded the offer. i took it up the management chain, and at one point, i was offered a car replacement but this was later rescinded. now the car is out of warranty after attempting repairs for three years..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 1892 miles.
