CADILLAC SRX 2006 car safety problem was reported on Nov 01, 2006.CADILLAC SRX 2006, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM . when stopping, then starting up (with the engine running, like at a stop sign) the 2006 cadillac srx will often fail to move when the accelerator is pressed and the ¿traction control¿ indication lights up on the radio. this also happens sometimes when turning without stopping. it happens on level ground and when going up inclines. it makes a grinding sound (like when gears are raked in a manual transmission.) by letting off the accelerator, then re-applying it, the car will move, but the hesitation is very dangerous. if the driver does not let off of the accelerator during one of these episodes, the car will very slowly begin to move and eventually accelerate normally. this happens on wet or dry pavement, with no reason for loss of traction. ¿turning off¿ the traction control feature by pressing the button on the console does not always prevent this from happening. the problem does not happen all the time, but intermittently. i have had the car into the dealer for repair of the problem numerous times, but the dealer has never been able to diagnose or solve the defect. i put my safety and others at risk with every mile that i drive this car. *tr.Mileage was 5000 miles. CADILLAC SRX 2006 car safety problem was reported on Jan 10, 2010.CADILLAC SRX 2006, manufactured by GENERAL MOTORS CORP. had a problem with TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM . we own a 2006 cadillac srx awd that is having a problem with the traction control. pretty regularly, when you are driving at a low rate of speed, the traction control will engage without warning. you can be turning in an intersection when it happens or just pulling out of a parking lot but when it happens, the radio alert will read "traction control engaged". you have to reach over and hit the clear button to get it to stop. when it happens, you lose power. if you are in an intersection, you have to be very careful & fast or you will get hit. it's very scary. we had a mechanic check the codes in the computer and it had these codes: c0046: left rear wheel speed circuit, c0228: left rear abs channel in release too long and a transmission code: p1793- wheel speed signal malfunction. because of these codes, the mechanic couldn't tell what is going on. when he called the cadillac dealership, he was told that we needed a rear driver hub assembly. which has nothing to do with the traction control engaging. i found several complaints on this site about the same problem w/2006 & 2007 model srx's. then i searched online & their are hundreds of complaints about this issue. some as early as feb. 2006. this is a safety issue that could result in death if not repaired. the dealers should know what it is & should recall all of the affected vehicles to repair them because they were faulty from the start. i hope something is done before someone gets hurt. please look into this. just search online & you will find hundreds of complaints. that's just the people that have taken the time to complain. thank you *tr .Mileage was 63000 miles. CADILLAC SRX 2006 car safety problem was reported on June 15, 2014.CADILLAC SRX 2006, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL . at low speeds when pulling out of a driveway or taking off from a stop sign or traffic light my 2006 cadillac srx traction control engages and almost stops my vehicle in the middle of the road. i have almost been hit several times by other drivers because of this problem. i took my cadillac to a local gm dealership (dale earnhardt chevrolet) in newton nc. on my first visit to the dealer they found a multiple misfire (code p300) and a faulty oil pressure sensor (code p0521 & code p0523). i was told by the dealership that the misfire was causing the traction control to engage, so they changed all the spark plugs and changed the faulty oil pressure sensor. when i picked up the cadillac from them and drove it home the traction control continued to engage several times. i returned my cadillac for the second time to the same dealership the next day. they scanned the vehicle computer for codes again but could not find any and could not duplicate what i was describing that the vehicle does. i returned home with my cadillac and drove it for several more days. the traction control continued to engage and when my family was almost involved in another crash i took it back to dale earnhardt chevrolet for the third time. they test drove it again but still they couldn't get the traction control to engage. they contacted general motors this time. general motors told them to update the pcm and apply dielectric grease to the ebcm connectors and clean the terminals and test drive. the dealership completed the work and test drove it for a whole weekend. when i picked up my cadillac they told me everything should be ok now. on my home the traction control engaged again several times. that was on 07/21/2014. i have spent close to 1,000 dollars on this problem and i don't think the vehicle is save for me and my family to drive anymore. i have no idea what to do now. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 125150 miles. CADILLAC SRX 2006 car safety problem was reported on June 15, 2014.CADILLAC SRX 2006, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with POWER TRAIN . at low speeds when pulling out of a driveway or taking off from a stop sign or traffic light my 2006 cadillac srx traction control engages and almost stops my vehicle in the middle of the road. i have almost been hit several times by other drivers because of this problem. i took my cadillac to a local gm dealership (dale earnhardt chevrolet) in newton nc. on my first visit to the dealer they found a multiple misfire (code p300) and a faulty oil pressure sensor (code p0521 & code p0523). i was told by the dealership that the misfire was causing the traction control to engage, so they changed all the spark plugs and changed the faulty oil pressure sensor. when i picked up the cadillac from them and drove it home the traction control continued to engage several times. i returned my cadillac for the second time to the same dealership the next day. they scanned the vehicle computer for codes again but could not find any and could not duplicate what i was describing that the vehicle does. i returned home with my cadillac and drove it for several more days. the traction control continued to engage and when my family was almost involved in another crash i took it back to dale earnhardt chevrolet for the third time. they test drove it again but still they couldn't get the traction control to engage. they contacted general motors this time. general motors told them to update the pcm and apply dielectric grease to the ebcm connectors and clean the terminals and test drive. the dealership completed the work and test drove it for a whole weekend. when i picked up my cadillac they told me everything should be ok now. on my home the traction control engaged again several times. that was on 07/21/2014. i have spent close to 1,000 dollars on this problem and i don't think the vehicle is save for me and my family to drive anymore. i have no idea what to do now. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 125150 miles. CADILLAC SRX 2006 car safety problem was reported on July 19, 2014.CADILLAC SRX 2006, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with SUSPENSION . first started hearing problem when  i purchased suv back in june 2012, i took it to dealer several times within days of purchasing the suv and they would not fix it, they wanted to charge me $1600.00.  warranty would not cover it because they said it was a existing condition. so, that's the first issue i have. now, the same issue got worse (@ 108,000 miles) and became a safety issue and i noticed the same problem was in the recall info from dec 2007 on the lemonlaw site. july 17th 2014 i took my suv in for repair on another issue, then on the 19th i called the dealer cause i started to hear a whinnng noise and a clunk sound that was even louder than before. that same day as i was transporting a client coming out of a parking lot my car suddenly jerked so hard my client almost bumped her head on the dashboard and me on the stirring wheel. after having it towed to another cadillac dealership nearby i was told that it was the differential pinion/ bushings all the fluid had leaked out and when the tech showed me what happen all bolts were missing that suppose to hold parts together. so, i asked does that happen over a period of time and he told me no it doesn't and hes never seen that before. so, now i am very suspicious, confused and angry. the repair is going to cost $3,000, they said with no way around it, i did buy the car used but i feel that this issue should be covered by the manufacturer and/or dealer. there were other issues that i had with the suv that was taken careof, they called it special codes but they left this one out. please help, i have elderly clients/family/ friends that i care for on a daily basis and i need my suv. *tr.0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 79025 miles. CADILLAC SRX 2006 car safety problem was reported on Aug 12, 2014.CADILLAC SRX 2006, manufactured by General Motors LLC had a problem with WHEELS . while driving at a very slow speed the car tracking system light comes on and the car lost the ability to accelerate. i was in the medium of a very busy highway and almost had an accident because the more i push on the accelerator the car would not go any faster. this is very dangerous and i am almost afraid to drive my vehicle. i have taken it to the shop for this problem and they had no idea why this was happening. i have to be very careful when at a stop sign getting ready to take off because i don't know if the car will accelerate or not. this has been happening for a long time and i am wondering if anyone else is having this problem..0 person(s) were injured. 0 person(s) died.Mileage was 88590 miles.
